Hilltop Golf Course

My friends and I decided to get a round in Sunday late morning. It was a perfect day and it was my first time playing here so I was excited, my friends however have played before at this course.

My first experience was less than par. Once we came in to check in we must have waited at least 15 minutes before someone showed up to check in our tee time. When he did show up, he seemed frustrated which then translated to him being a bit rude with us. Once we checked in we were told that we had to go get our own carts from the gated barn area. WHAT?!?! Do they only staff one person on Sundays? After about 25 mins we finally get our round started, luckily we were there way before our tee time.

The course was pretty fun to play. I love the blind shots, its very strategic. Greens are in very good shape! I really enjoyed that. We had no hold up until we finished our first 9 holes. At the turn we walked into the club house where we must have waited another 15 minutes!!! Only one person staffed, a line of people at the counter and we had to wait to get a hot dog because the only one person staffed was busy checking people in for there tee times. Hire two people for weekend golf or have hot dogs ready!

We got on with our second nine and we were making good pace until we ran into a hold up around hole 7. I saw a lot of single golfers which should not be allowed on the weekends, should be paired up to keep pace. The single guy in front of us must have been hitting 3-4 balls each shot! And no ranger to help keep pace on the course.

Very disappointing for my first time golfing here! There were a lot of things that seem to be mismanaged. But, I would come again to see if my experience is different. Would give it a second chance and the cost wasn't too bad for the course.

Not very long, but course is very strategic, you'll use every club.

Hiltop puts all possible tee times on the site whether they actually are possible or not. They put tee times out there even before sunrise. We booked a tee time for around 9:30 AM, they wouldn't let us golf because of a frost issue. No other course in the area had this delay. Someone who had a 8:30 tee time had been there getting the run around for an hour before us. The staff at the course said it was our problem for booking tee times that early. I used to come here a couple times a year, def won't consider again

People reviewing this course before me have left out that the layout here is great. Yes the holes are close, but I challenge you to find a course with more undulating fairways. Throw in a few elevated tees and tree hidden greens, and you have a really enjoyable course to play.

Pace of play was okay considering it was Sunday afternoon. Everything else was good or at least average. However, maintenance on first 3~4 holes was bad. Tee boxes and greens need be fixed.

Very enjoyable golf experience and great value. I will definitely be ppaying again.

It was a nice day tee were not to hard, cart path needs to a little smoother both in all a pretty nice course.

$20 for 18 with cart, cant beat the deal.

The course had a really nice layout. It was a good challenge. It was a good length. Nice elevation changes. Had some tight fairways where it tried to force you to use 3 wood or an iron off the tee. My major issue was that the course wasn't very well maintained. A lot of bare spots and people throwing beer cans under trees. With a little bit of work the course could be really awesome.

Me and 7 friends hit the course this past Sunday at hilltop. The cost was right and the weather was perfect. The course was in great shape and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food at the turn was nothing to rave about would be nice to have some choices. The beer cart girl ran out of beer twice should be stocked with more when she comes out. The rate of play was awful, took over ( hours to shoot 18. I could only recommend having a ranger urging the slow groups to increase their rate of play.

It would of been nice to either have fresh water on the course or a bev cart making the rounds since it was 93 out.

My golf league partner and I went to play here after growing up in the area and not playing here in years and found that it has serious lack of maintenance! Gave us a slip for the starter and they don't even have one! Group in front of us snuck their 4 year old in the cart with them and he was the best golfer of the 3! Most greens were so slow it will ruin your putting game. then would have hole placements on others where you could putt 10 times and not stop the ball! The area had bad weather 8 days prior and there were numerous fallen tree's that were STILL over cart paths, branches and leaves laying EVERYWHERE to the point it was difficult finding balls in the fairways! The "Billy Casper Group" is running this for the Twsp of Plymouth and Billy Casper has been deceased for 2 years! This is a hackers dream! If you want to golf with people that will shoot 110 this is for you. The sad part is that it has ENORMOUS POTENTIAL! Has the feel that it will be a subdivision soon!

No starter on the course. Waited 30 minutes beyond our tee time to tee off. Horrible pace of play, Quit after 5 holes.

I enjoyed playing. The pace was nice.

Very slow play. One reason was the course had not cleared fallen leaves in a few days. Tee boxes were in sad condition. Overall course condition was poor.

Last played Hill Top 15 years ago the course has grown up nicely and would prove to be a good challenge for any level golfer.

3 of us played Hilltop for the first time. Playing a new course is usually difficult. We found Hilltop to very challenging. We talked with golfers on the course, and they stated you have to play it many times to manage your game there. We enjoyed it very much, and will be back!!

3 hours for 8 holes. Paid for 18 but couldn't take it anymore. Skipped 9-18.

The price was good and the first 9 we played in just over 1 hour and 30 minutes.
We made the turn to discover that we were in line behind people that were just playing 9 holes.
We then played holes 10, 11 and 12 in an hour and left.
They definately need some organization.

Good place to practice your game, great views and easy to play course, staff is very nice also.
