Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

The course was in the beautiful shape
I have played this course many times over the years, it has always been well manicured, however this time I was very impressed, it was better groomed, the fairways were perfect, greens average, but in good shape.
All I can say is Wow!
Booked on Golfnow for an early Sunday tee time based on reviews on golfadvisor. What a gem of a course. You get your money's worth. The course was in very good condition. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were well cared for. Many yardage choices based on ability. The Metropark system should be proud of this one. Hats off to the grounds and greens keeper as well as the course staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I'll definitely be back!
Perfect Experience
Perfect Experience. Very beautiful course to play. Pace of play was great. Note that I had an early tee time. Staff was courteous and friendly. Fairways were cut and played great !! Green were well kept !! I would definitely go back and play. It is a hidden jewel !!
Great course
This course is always well manicured. It has plenty of character with plenty of room to play. Although this course does seem to swallow about 4 of my balls everytime I play ithas nothing to do with the course. Yes, there is plenty of cat tails and swampy areas that come into play but you have to hit it pretty bad of line to get into trouble. Course knowledge is extremely helpful here since some of the doglegs and blind tee shots are blind. Well worth playing. Bring bug spray.
Nice scenery
Course is quite open with fairways that are easy to find. Greens relativity large but can be tricky. Paired up with a couple of nice guys that made the round more enjoyable. Best Metro course I have played. Only one complaint is that you can't book a "Hot Deal" as a single. This is true a most Metro Courses. They would fill tee sheet if they allowed singles these Hot deals.
Lake Erie
The course was is great shape, especially the greens.
Saw a Bald Eagle on hole #12! One of my favorite courses for the $$.
Greens were poorly airated and the mower followed us till we lost him after 7 holes. He did not stop while we're on the boxes or the greens.
Fun but packed
I love the metropark courses however they are typically very busy. Our tee time was 10:56 and we didn't tee off untill 11:15. The course was jammed up with a several minute wait at every hole. It was extremely wet aswell so I wouldn't recommend playing here after a day or nights rain but the greens were great, the fairways were great and the staff was very friendly. Overall a great course but very busy on a sunday
very nice course
the course was in great condition and a bit of a challenge but a lot of fun
Fantastic! Great Conditions and Course Layout
My friend and I bought a hot deal offline for $16 each for 18 and a cart on a Tuesday late morning. We had a friend who ended up joining us and paid full price at $32 which is still not bad.
Course was in excellent shape! There was no one on the course so pace of play was excellent. Fairways were cut nice and in great shape.
Pros: Course was green, fairways were cut fantastic and grown in nice. Greens were in awesome shape! Course layout was nice with tree lined fairways and some challenging holes such as #11
Cons: Greens were tough to read, seemed like every putt was straight even if there was a break. My friends said the same. Were not very true greens, could use some rolling. No beverage cart, but could be because it was a Tuesday late morning and also there is a lack in the off course amenities mainly because it is a metropark and did not expect a full blown bar or after round hangout like other courses.
Overall: Excellent course and will play again and also recommend to others. Very fun course to play.
Nice fairways
After the recent rain the fairways and rough were in great shape. Greens in excellent shape, also. Staff very friendly and helpful as usual.
Mid-july review
Tee's,fairways and green's were in good shape however the rest of the course not given much attention. Staff seems a little lax when it comes to customer service and the Rangers are not very sharp.
Good layout
This course is on the shorter side but has the tight fairways to keep you honest off the tee. The layout is pretty awesome because of the doglegs and elevation changes. The fairways are not wide and lined with tall grass that may eat your golf ball. Pace of play is on the slower side due to the amount of people looking for their now lost ball and the large volume of golfers. It is a great course and worth the 1 hr. drive.
Fun course in good shape.
Challenging course in good shape. Played mid week and pretty well had the course to ourselves.
Lake Erie
I have played most of the metro parks and Lake Erie is both challenging and scenic. The price is very fair for the level of play.
Hidden Gem
Played the course on October 26 th 2015. The course was in excellent shape with quick freshly cut greens. Staff had cleared most all leaves from this heavily treed course making it easy to find your ball in the late fall conditions. Clearly the superintendent takes great pride in his work as the course was very well taken care of. Although this is my first round at Lake Erie Metropark , I will return again. .
Lake erie Metropark
First time playing the course. For late October the course was in very good condition. If you spray the ball, stay away from the natural areas and tall grasses. Easy to lose a ball. Keep the ball in the fairway and a low score should result.
