Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Lake erie Metropark
First time playing the course. For late October the course was in very good condition. If you spray the ball, stay away from the natural areas and tall grasses. Easy to lose a ball. Keep the ball in the fairway and a low score should result.
great condition
for fall, the course was in excellent condition. the tee boxes, fairways and greens were healthy.
Small amount of leaves on the ground.
Worth the drive
Great course. Layout is picturesque. Greens and fairways in excellent conditions. Well worth the hour it took us to get to course!
Great Value!
I love Lake Erie Metropark golf course! The course was in great condition and the staff is fantastic!
Great course for the money
I can't say anything bad about this course. For a metro course, it was beyond what I expected. For $25, I had a nice cart and the entire course was in great condition. I'll be back next time in the area.
It is a golf course
I don't understand Metro Parks golf. Every time I book through GolfNow, they have some issue with the booking. I don't want to know that they have a problem.
This course was just ok today. I played 2 days after a rainfall and the course was still very wet with large puddles in most bunkers.
All in all, it was okay. It wasn't a great experience. Go Play
Fairly difficult course
My buddy and I had never played this course before yesterday. I was expecting something similar to Wesburn in South Rockwood. Not the case. It's one of the more challenging courses I've played in the area. Good amount of turns, water, and sand, mixed in with some narrow fairways surrounded by woods and high grass. We lost a lot of balls. The upkeep of the course was decent. The fairways and roughs were dry, which was nice when the ball was hit well because it rolled pretty far, adding to distance. The greens were damp and slow, as it had rained the night before, but that's an advantage for my personal putting game. The one thing I didn't like most was that the course was absolutely packed ahead of and behind us. We were playing ready golf so the twosome behind us could tee off, but then we'd run into the twosome in front of us as they were at the tee, or on the fairway. The whole day we felt like we were either rushing our play, or at a complete stand still. Overall, it's a course I'd definitely play again when they're not as busy.
The Best
Best course along Lake Erie... and along with it, the best weather you could ask for... :)
good value for the money
2nd course of the Metro Parks I have played. Not as nice or scenic as Willow Metro Park. Keep shots in fairway, rough is very tall and thick. Well maintained for a public course, staff very friendly
Goof experience
Everything was beautiful perfect weather course was in great shape excellent
Early Morning Tee Time Great Day
Course was well maintain, greens offered some challenging pin locations. The pace was decent for 7am tee time! Our round was fun and relaxing for the group and offered really good value! Metro parks in the area take good care of these courses!
Don't go
Course is in good shape or at least the three holes we played were. They have a bad habit of double booking tee times , after an hour and a half we arrived at the fourth tee. I feel bad for saying a phone call about a relatives health emergency was a blessing but in this case it was. By extension this round was potentially going to be 9 hours. We called the pro shop while at the fourth tee and were told we could get a rain check. We received a rain check for 2 for 9 with a cart. When we tried to redeem this rain check we were told it was only worth $12.50 and that we would owe another $25.00. After paying $50.00 for the initial 18 holes and the $25.00 they now wanted we would be paying $75.00 to play 12 holes. There was no way to get a refund and although the younger man at the counter seemed to want to help, the older man was rude, callous and not customer oriented. Bad experience will not go back.
hot July day...
Played after a big outing course was in great shape not as many geese as previously overall wonderful day little on the hot side 95.
VERY NICE AND GREAT VALUE
great conditions fairways and greens. The course had taken in lots of rain prior to us playing.... The fairways were lush and a pleasure to play from. Only 35 minutes from Windsor and at $22....I'll play multiple more times. Did have a fowl smell in areas close to water(most likely fertilizer runoff) but not a big deal. Courses in Windsor at $60 for worse conditions.....no brainer!
Not for the high handicapper
The greens and fairways are well maintained but the rough is thick and the coarse is not very forgiving. This coarse is not set up for beginners or high handicappers. You have to put the ball in the fairway or you will pay the price. Staff was very friendly and the food and drink where par for the coarse. The pace of play was great, groups were spread out so we felt no pressure. I do plan on coming back soon.
Thank you for joining us! We look forward to seeing you again.
Lake Erie metro
Course was in very good shape however the greens were really slow
Nice fairways
I've played a lot of course this year this course had the best fairways keep up really nice. It was like hitting it off carpet.
Fun course to play
This course is long but not over whelming, great fairways and long rough, narrow with trees and a lot of water, plus wildlife and birds every where. Great greens, but maybe just a little slow.
Fun to Play
course is in great shape, long but not over whelming, narrow, with a lot of trees, and water and plenty of wildlife and great scenery.
Really nice course
We enjoyed playing here. Fairways were well maintained, rough was a bit long. It's located in marshy land and there is a lot of tall swamp grass and wooded areas to hit into. Lost a lot of balls on the first few holes. Greens were gigantic but very challenging, with lots of potato chip sloped shaped greens that proved vexing (to us). Maintenance was average for a metropark on the greens, not perfect, but pretty good. Worth playing, and a great value for what we paid.
Thank you for joining us! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
