Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Nice fairways
I've played a lot of course this year this course had the best fairways keep up really nice. It was like hitting it off carpet.
Fun course to play
This course is long but not over whelming, great fairways and long rough, narrow with trees and a lot of water, plus wildlife and birds every where. Great greens, but maybe just a little slow.
Fun to Play
course is in great shape, long but not over whelming, narrow, with a lot of trees, and water and plenty of wildlife and great scenery.
Really nice course
We enjoyed playing here. Fairways were well maintained, rough was a bit long. It's located in marshy land and there is a lot of tall swamp grass and wooded areas to hit into. Lost a lot of balls on the first few holes. Greens were gigantic but very challenging, with lots of potato chip sloped shaped greens that proved vexing (to us). Maintenance was average for a metropark on the greens, not perfect, but pretty good. Worth playing, and a great value for what we paid.
Great metro park course
Challenging course from the white tees but try the blues for that extra length. Take advantage of a free round of golf by playing on your birthday also available if your birthday takes place during the winter months
Thursday
16 players and the staff treated us excellent, We try and play a different course each week and this one is differently a repeat.
Great course
What a great round. Just rained a few hours before our t time. Course drained very well, still had 90 degree rule but not a lot of standing water. A very well maintained course. Can't wait to play it again and just maybe break out if the 80's. Shot an 41 on front and 45 on back.
Thank you to all the Lake Erie metro park employees who maintain this course great job!
Great Golf
One word can describe my experience, EXCELLENT.
Will have my weekend group attend also.
Excellent value.
Greens and fairways are in excellent condition....
Very nice lay out and loads of fun
We had a wonderful round of golf. Pace of play ws great and only lost 2 golf balls....plenty of water and woods on this course. Hit long and straight is the name of the game.
Quality Metro Park
Much nicer than Willow and Hudson Mills. Good course and pretty straight forward.
Good Metro Park Course
Great hot deal at $12. The course was out of the way, but I would definitely play again. Nicer than other metro park course, comparable with Kensington.
Wonderfully challenging
Great course, staff, and conditions. For a intermediate to advanced golfers, this course would be a must go. Beginners stay away! Though I enjoyed golfing this course, I still shot horrendously. Course can be very unforgiving, so keep it on the fairway. Greens can be tricky, and a fair amount of sand and water on the course.
Erie Metropark Golf Course
I must say this is the best of all the Metropark courses in the metro Detroit area. Kudos to the golf course management, the greens keeper's & other course personal. I will definitely be playing there a few more times b4 the season ends.
fantastic course
i always feel that this course is a great value because of the condition of the course ..the course is challenging but not "gimmicky " ..when you play this course for the first time you will not have a lot of surprises .I would strongly recommend this course , a little out of the way but worth it .
I love this course
I really enjoy golfing erie. It's a beutiful course with all sorts of wild life. The course is in great shape and the greens are very challenging. I'll definitely be golfing there again soon.
Brutal
Greens bounce when you hit them. No sand whatsoever. Hacks hold up play and are too inexperienced to let you play through.
Good value
Course is a little flat but the rough will give you enough of a challenge if your not hitting it straight. Bunkers could use some sand, more like hard pan.
As expected
One of my favorite places to play. Must keep ball in play as the outer edges are thick.
Once again had a small issue with counter. Had rain in forecast and I arrived 45 min early to see if I could get out as I was a single. Only 2 cars in lot, but was explained to me how important it was to maintain tee times...
Like being up NORTH
Wonderful people wonderful golf course pace of play perfect I like the fact that 50 minutes from my house I can find a perfect piece of land
