Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Nice Course!!!

Nice Course but you better find the fairways. Rough is hard to play out of.. The greens are real nice. They do a good job maintaining course..

Great Shape, do not miss the fairways.

I've played this course over 20 times in the past few years and it is a very good value for the price. The course is always in very good condition with greens that roll true. The greens however are very springy and approach shots even with short clubs can bounce many feet in the air and over greens even when wet. The course plays very tight and missing a fairway usually means a lost ball in woods or native grasses/marshland.

Hole #11 is the signature hole on the course and plays about 430 from the back tees and is a dogleg left par 4 with trees on either side and a creek which fronts a very undulating green.

Metro park golf

Nice metro park golf course. Nothing great nothing bad. Played the course in 3.5 hours on a Saturday. Greens usually run smooth. Playing from the tips makes this a little more challenging. Only about 10-15 yard difference on each hole. Had a fly hatch e day before so a lot of fish flys dieting on the green. Overall I play this course about 4/5 times a year

A Diamond in the Rough

A spectacular setting just inland of Lake Erie. This par 72 has much to offer. Natural wetlands meshed with rolling fairways and secluded holes, gives an almost "up north" feeling. A driving range and massive putting green accommodate the starter building. 4 sets of tees allows for multiple handicaps, and yardage marking throughout the course. The staff is friendly and educated. Tighten up the amenities a bit and drop the senior age to 55 and this could be the best course downriver.

A Diamond in the Rough

Very scenic secluded layout just inland of Lake Erie. Nature wetlands amass this Par 72 whose two nine's are separated by a road. Driving range and massive putting green accommodate the starter building. Greens roll fast and true. Fun to play, and nice educated staff. Tighten up the amenities and lower the senior age to 55 and you have a real gem.
