Pace of play was horrible
Me and a group of friends decided to play this course on Monday April 22,2024. Two of the guys we played with had never played this course before. Before our round started we were telling them how much we enjoyed playing here. Well, 5.5 hours later after our round of 18 nobody felt this way any longer. Each hole we played we were waiting on the tee box 10-15 minutes to tee off because of slow play way ahead of us. Each one of us stated we won’t be coming back. Sorry Cattails, it just took way too long.
Challenging Fun!
Had a great time navigating this course new to the two of us! We like to visit and play golf courses new to us and Cattails did not disappoint us!

Cattails First Time
We enjoyed the challenges that this course gave to us. My friend and I are senior players that like to visit other courses in our area. We are on a league at Hartland Glen and like to play wherever we can enjoy new challenges. Thus one with all the “cattails” proved itself worthy of the challenge.

Blocked shots
I forgot that I played this course last season. There are several blocked shots around the course which makes it very difficult to get around. Some of the fairways turn right or left so you can overcook drives into the woods easily. I'm not a good enough golfer to shape shots and hit on all these uneven hilly lies. I will probably stick to the shorter courses for a while until I get better.

Disappointed
Tees and greens rough.
Greens overly sloped and very fast. Ball would roll off the green on its own occasionally.
Overall the course needs someone to actually care and take care of it. Course and facilities are in need of a ton of TLC.
If the owners don't care any more just sell the course.
We got a great deal on Golf now otherwise value would be 1 star.
Has a ton of potential but most of it is unrealized

Really nice track
Really enjoyed my first time out at Cattails. It was on the list of courses in the area I hadn't played and had the opportunity to get out early on a Sunday. The staff was friendly and helpful. The course itself was in great shape and we were able to play at a very reasonable pace even though it appeared to be pretty busy. Moreso than many courses in the area, I think the layout is one that would be better on a return trip. There's a lot of holes with sharp doglegs or blind landings that we would've played differently if we knew better. Unique layout, frustrating at times, but overall very enjoyable. I think this would be an excellent scramble course. We will play again for sure.
