Awesome course, terrible pace of play
Really enjoyed the course - it’s short but doesn’t feel short aside from about 3 drivable par 4s. Great condition, greens ran true and probably would be cut shorter but it’s almost winter.
Pace of play was a joke. Stood on tee boxes for 5-10 minutes on almost every single hole. It’s one thing to be bad at golf, it’s another to have no clue how to play at a reasonable pace - seems like this course attracts both kinds of people.
Enjoy golf in beautiful fall season
Enjoyed playing golf in beautiful fall season.Colorful background & cool/warm weather made it a bit different golfing than summer time. I loved it!
Staff
So unfriendly same lady every time I’ve gone this year love the course but the staff super unprofessional every time I’ve been she has to say o your a golfnow guy now with hot deal she super annoyed that we use the app they should just take it off and the pace of play is horrendous 3 hours for the back nine yesterday with the ranger watching the group and smiled and said nothing I’ll never go back ever I thought maybe it was bad mood few times with lady but no she hates golf now
Great Public Course
Course in great shape and meticulously maintained. Great practice facility as well but a little cheap that you need to use range balls to use the sand trap / pitching green.
Excellent conditions
Played Campbells in 4 hours on aMonday. Teed off on time, mostly foursomes ahead and behind keeping steady pace on a very hot day. Conditions are the best i’ve seen this year. Greens, fairways, even the rough is cut right. No bad lies all day. Well done crew.
Fun Course - Ruined by rude starter
Overall the course was great! No complaints there! The greens could have been in a bit better shape.
I'm giving this course 1 star because of the starter that harassed my group all day. It started on hole 1 when he came flying over to our group as we are about to tee off to see if we paid. We had literally all just spoken with him 5 minutes before and showed our receipts. We told him that and he said he needed to see them again. Whatever.
It then got worse when we were teeing off hole 10. We mistakenly drove up next to the white tees instead of the tips where we were playing from. So from the cart path we made a tight u-turn onto the grass and then back onto the cart path. We did not come anywhere close to the tee boxes (at least 15 yards away). He came flying over yelling at us for driving on the grass with our cart. Yes, driving on the grass. I took it on the chin and apologized and said we mistakenly drove to the wrong tees. He then responded by saying "have you ever played golf before?". Again I just bit my tongue and apologized. We were nothing but professional, paying customers who were treated with complete disrespect. We definitely will not be going back because of this one individual who took the joy out of our day.
P.S. I shot a 78 that day. Jerk.
Good public course
Our first time on this course and everything was good. Helpful staff and they kept the groups moving (which doesn’t always happen) Course is challenging and interesting. Several holes required smart play and not just gripping and ripping. Course is well maintained.
Best Course in the are for the $$$
I play here once or twice a week, you will not find a better course in this area relative to the cost. It is not a long course and it is extremely wide open, so you will score low here. Fun layout with some drivable Par 4s and some high risk/high reward holes. The course being so wide open leads to some challenging winds. Staff is always friendly. Pace of play is usually good in the mornings but slows down a bit in the afternoons and on weekends, they do as good of a job as they can to manage it but they are always busy.
Exceeded course in the Merrimack Valley
One of the top courses in the Merrimack Valley. Very nice layout, excellent condition and true tolling greens. Highly recommended
Great day
Course set up was very nice. Dog legs make you think. Course was in great shape. Probably because of cart path only.
Favorite place to play
Must play this year. Great staff and layout. When I think of joining a course this is top on my list.,
Fantastic
We have played this course since it opened in 1994. I drive over 50 miles one way from Ashland Ma. to Campbell's. I've done this many times and will continue to make the drive. Course conditions are always great and this place is loaded with nice people. Tuesday is the best day to go because you get lunch included in your green fees with a cart and a foursome. If you haven't played there I am not sure what you are waiting for.
Great day
I have been going to this course since it opened in 1994. It is a road trip for me. 56 miles one way. I have no problem making this trip because the course is always in great shape and the folks there could not be nicer. If you want a deal book your round on Tuesdays.
Great course
Campbells Scottish Highlands is a very nice course. It is moderate to somewhat difficult, depending on the speed of the greens and the weather. Good for golfers of all levels. Greens this week were faster than I had seen here in past years. I really enjoyed the course.
