About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Course in great shape
I have read other reviews, people seem to have super high standards. This is a privately owned course and the staff do a fantastic job of keeping the course in playable condition. The greens are the highlight of the course Moderate to fast speed and pure rolls The fairways are in fine shape and the rough is kept low so it doesn’t really impact play. If you appreciate early golf course design you will appreciate the course
Perfect round of golf
Haven't played this course in over 10 years, but very pleased with the conditions. I will definitely come back.
Great Value for the Money
Let me preface this with the fact that I am a walker and the course is reasonably priced for walking. Fairways and greens overall are in great shape. Great layout and will be back

Overall the course is in great condition. A little more expensive than others in the area. A lot of poison ivy around the course.
Great course
Mattawang is a great course. While it generally takes a bad rap for slow play, this round was pretty good. Course is in great shape- tee boxes, greens were in super condition, rough was manageable, bunkers could have used some raking but were otherwise in good condition...well worth the $

Fairways and greens were in great condition. five of the par 4's were over 400 yards, great challenge
Good course year round
Course doesn’t get beat up like many other courses. Stays consistently good throughout year. Rough was a little tall for my liking today but otherwise well maintained
