Green Knoll Golf Course

The course itself was good. Fairways and greens are in good shape. The only dig I have with this last round played at green knoll was we were on pace for a 3-1/2 hour round and the starter had the pits to come out and tell us to pick up the pace. Normal rounds at this place are 4+ hours so we couldn't figure where he came off or why he did this.

He simply frustrated the entire group and had no other purpose.

This course are under rated golf course in nj..greens conditions are better than average also layout of course is really challenging..

Staff in the pro shop super friendly. Starter nice guy. But No chipping. No driving range. Nice putting green. All the greens were in great shape, only a couple 1 putts so be careful. Lots of 2 puts & a couple 3 putts. Watch your tempo.

It’s tuff for my 1st swing of the day of driver to be on 1st tee. Some blind shots. All quality holes. I don’t hit out of any muni sand traps, usually too much dirt. There were a few all sand. Narrow fairways but if you hit it straight no worries. Hard to find balls from errant shots. GREAT pace of play. Little over 4 hours, very good for muni. Saw the ranger a few times never said a word to us so I think we were on pace. Can’t say enough t about the nice guys in the pro shop, most muni courses are stocked with grumps.

I booked a 1:40pm hot deal for 3 people but the course didn't honor it. They said that the tee time doesn't include the cart fees when my confirmation clearly stated CART INCLUDED.

I showed them my confirmation on golfnow but no use. The pro shop rep said they didn't get the electronic notice from golfnow stating the carts are included. Didn't try to work with me to resolve this issue which really had nothing to do with me. So I ended up paying another $66 for just the carts, making the fee times almost $70 for a county muni course on a weekday! I could've gotten that at my county course 9 minutes away instead of driving almost an hour. Really disappointed. Will NEVER go back to this course.

The play was slow on every hole. I should’ve called the front desk and asked for a ranger to come out however, I did not see one ranger on the course. I think they should have ranges on the course of course like this which is open in fairly short, it should only take four hours in total just took over 4 1/2 hours. Waited on every hole. Once a Ranger comes out tell someone to pick it up. It only takes that one time to keep everything moving as it should.

For a public course the course is in a reasonable shape. Unfortunately, the start of the game is marred by Starter Mr. Jay’s rude behavior. He doesn’t seem to be happy doing the job. I traveled all the way from Bergen county. It will serve Mr.Jay well to drive to any of the Bergen county courses and watch the starters operate. They are a fun bunch, go out of the way to make sure everyone is enjoying. That’s the whole point.

It was a blistering hot day, so as you’d expect almost everyone wanted a cart. There was a wait of up to 40 minutes for each group choosing to wait for carts. When asked about the shortage we were told the county doesn’t supply enough carts to the course. You would think such a nice county as Somerset, that they would take better care of ALL of their courses and not just the select few with acclaim. For the price, not worth it.

Course overall in very good condition, although a couple of the sand traps are to be desired, but definitely well worth playing

I really loved the course! It was a little slow, but I got extra time to practice then. Nice views. Great shape in early June.

Overall very nice course. Needed to be mowed off fairways. Better attention needed as twosomes should have been put with other twosomes to even out round of play. Had a fun round anyway
