Solid beach course
I played this course on an overcast afternoon. If you want to play a player friendly course that is in excellent condition, Avalon is for you. This course is not long. However, keep it straight because water hazards exist on sides of many holes. Best hole on course is #17. A 150 yard par 3 entirely over water. Would definitely play again.
Nice coarse
Fun coarse but really slow greens takes a long time to get used to them
Good condition and good value
Considering the number of rounds played on this course, it is in very good condition and good value for the money. The course is moderately difficult but enjoyable for even the average golfer.
Father's Day
I took my pops out the Saturday before father's day to Avalon and had a great day. Weather was beautiful and course was is good condition. The pace was pretty slow it took us over 5 hours to complete the course but we weren't in any rush we were out to enjoy the day and time together and we understood that they were fully booked on father's day weekend. The fairways and greens were in very condition but they do have a geese problem there and found a few holes on the back nine with there feces on the tee boxes and greens besides that and being alittle slow it was a great day,
Fathers Day Round
The course was in good shape, the pace of play was good. They gave a $25 discount for fathers on fathers day which was a pleasant surprise.
Wonderful course
Had a blast playing here for the first time, greens and fairways were in wonderful shape comparable to other south jersey courses where I'm from. Would recommend playing here in late summer to fall to avoid traffic.
The greens
Course is in excellent condition. The greens are a little long and slow. I like playing fast greens. Other than that the course is in really great condition!
loved the weather and grounds condition.
Enjoyed the total layout. Had a lot of fun as a twosome paired up with another twosome
Great Condition
Had a GREAT day! The course is in very good condition(although you could not tell by my play). Hope to be back many more tomes over the summer.
Good day
You can't go wrong with being out on the course on a beautiful sunny day! Course was in great shape and greens were fantastic. Only down side, that they are aware of and plan on making adjustments, was Two groups of up to 16 players that play there every Tuesday which slows play to a stand still at hole 3. Once past there it does open up play.
Fun Fun Fun
It was an amazing day to play golf, and my biggest thrill was a tee shot on 17 (over water) that stopped only 2 inches from the hole.
Good shape for early in the season
Had a 12:45 tee time, got out as a single about 10 min early. Course was in decent shape for this time of the year, two fairways were a little wet. Greens were in great shape and they are challenging. Only complaint was the half way house wasn't open, pro shop should have let me know so I could have purchased something to drink. Overall I was pleased for the value. Would go back later in the year.
Good day for golf
Extremely windy course was in good shape bag people did nothing placed bag on and off cart they never touched my clubs. Bad people skills thank god I was there for golf instead of dealing with them. That was only bad experience
2nd time playing this course
2nd time playing this course and both times I booked through Golfnow and got burned with the yearly green dressing. The back nine was closed and the front nine was dressed the day before. The greens were horrible with sand a half inch thick in some areas and even worse was the plugs were left on the greens putting was impossible. I just wished I knew before buying the green fees. Fairways were fine. I saved only a whopping 8 dollars off the course regular price to boot. Very disappointed.
Shore is a nice course
Nice course..always enjoy playing here..played here since the 70's..always get my tee times with golfnow..had a problem booking online and golfnow called the pro shop and booked my time as I was on the phone
Decent Course
Tough to tell how this course holds up versus nearby courses in the summer but wasn't a bad play for December costwise. Good enough to see what heppens when the weather clears if the price is right.
This course has great fairways.
My first time at Avalon, being a senior golfer, I really enjoyed playing there. I highly recommend this to any senior golfer with an average handicap. For the price this is a great golf course.
Great Course
I booked 4 players for $80 which was a tremendous value for the course. The greens were in excellent shape. We had a great experience playing Avalon. I suggest that players play from the blue tees which play at about 6300 yds. The whites are aroun 5800 to short to rip a drive and hit a mid iron. Great course overall give it a try
Avalon GC
Nice course not much elevation change but challenging layout with use of water and bunkers
Nice course
It has been a long time since I played Avalon,(over five years) mainly because of extremely slow play and uncaring people in the Pro shop that I didn't want to deal with anylonger. Based on my round today things have really changed. The lady in the pro shop and the starter were very friendly and even let us out early. (a good idea on their part beacuse it speeds up pace of play) The course was in very nice condition and the pace of play was great. I have nothing but good things to say!!!!!!!!
