The greens were a bit slow.
Course was in great shape!

Course is in pretty good shape considering it is the middle of the summer. On busier days, you will see a very slow pace of play and there isn't all that much that can be done. Tee times are solid all the way through and one bad group can really slow it down. Rangers are pretty good, so just say something and they can probably get your through a slower group.

You should do your part and play ready golf as well as get off the greens and to the next tee before worrying about recording a score. Every little bit helps here to keep it moving.

We were put out as a threesome and played behind a relatively slow foursome all day. It wasn't horrible but wasn't ideal. Course is in decent shape and was enjoyable.

The course played very well. The course is in great shape. It's pretty straightforward what you see really is what you get except for putting it seems like it should be really fast but it's actually slow. The pro shop staff is rude. The guys in the bag drop are great, treat you like a member but again the pro shop staff is rude.

There is a lot of competition down the shore. I dont know what avalon is doing but the course was in terrible shape. Half of the greens where no fully cut.

Played cart path only as a twosome. Foursome in front would not allow us to play through. Were slow, threatening and aggressive. Eventually had to skip a hole to pass them and only got 17 holes in. No rangers on the course to help with pace of play. Staff were, at best, cordial. At end of round told us where to park the cart but did not attempt to clean clubs or help unload. Could not get off their cell phones to help. Overall an ok course but an uneventful experience. Price was the only reason to go back.

Course offers some challenges but still offers birdie opportunities to the bogy golfer

The Avalon Golf Club it is well maintained and was the most reasonable price of the nearby courses for this holiday weekend. We were delayed 15 minutes from original tee time but played in 4:20 with very little wait time. Great 19th hole and food is good.

One of the cheaper options at the shore for weekend play. Nice clubhouse as well.

The course was great overall but in light of other choices near by....if i paid full freight of $89...would be dissappointed. The course conditions were well maintained. Greens were slow but rolled true.

Avalon GC is a fun course. The course is in great condition and their are several cool holes. Enjoy

Avalon is a very nice place to play a round of golf, The course is in great shape at all times. The only issue is the pace of play. Even though the marshal did come around and ask us many times if things were moving along fine, they were not. it took us 5 hours for 18. I still recommend Avalon G.C.

Greens, fairways and tee boxes were lush .
Cart path only rule for every hole seemed unnecessary. Fairways were not wet/soft enough.

I like the course. It has some nice and challenging holes. It is well kept and the greens are in good condition too. I played there the day before Father's day after a lot of rain. The greens were slow, but that is most likely because they were wet and were unable to be cut as often as usual. Pace of play was very slow because the course was so crowded. Other than the 5 1/2 hour round, I enjoyed myself.

Course was in very good condition even though heavy rains for the days and morning before the round. As a result, greens were heavy and slow as a result of the rain conditions and wet course. In a dry period would like to see if the greens liven up. Although yardage from blues is only 6200 yds. its a fun and fast paced course. As they say, while were young.

Had an 11:30 tee time. Finished around 3:00pm,Went right off, never waited more than a couple minutes for any shot. Fairways and greens were well maintained, very few un-repaired divots. Staff at bag drop and pro-shop were attentive and friendly.

Nice course, but tight squeeze. have to be on your toes, almost got hit twice by people on other holes. Tee boxes were in perfect shape. bag drop worker didn't do anything but take the slip.

The course if very nice. The staff is very friendly. It does seem to be a course attracting a lot of locals with relationship at the course. Time of play was good. The overall value was exceptional - the course advertised a Wednesday special of $49.95 - through golf now I paid $26 per golfer.

Four of us went to Avalon (New Jersey) Golf Course for golfing on May 12th. They have a restaurant and were having a Mother's Day brunch. What surprised us was that they offered a special rate to attract golfers for what is probably a slow day, and then had no food to provide when we stopped into the clubhouse grill after nine holes. Why offer a special to attract golfers, and then cut off all food? Obviously we weren't interested in the Mother's Day Brunch, just a burger or sandwich. Poor planning. Otherwise, the course was quite nice, and the staff we encountered were courteous. They just weren't able to get us any food.
