Save your money
My group got to the course earlier to hit some balls on the range but when we checked in, we were told that they are out of range balls. Keep in mind that it was 11am. We asked for a cart from the starter and he said they’re out right now and tee times are running 30 minutes behind schedule. So now we are waiting extra time with nothing to do at the course. I gave this course a second chance after being disappointed two years ago with the non-playable green conditions but my group all agreed that this was the last time. We will not be coming back to play here. The course wasn’t in great shape by any means. The tee boxes are basically mud or dirt, fairways are beat up, and the greens haven’t been repaired all season. Lastly, a staff member in a utility cart pulled up to us around the 7th hole and said we need to speed it up because the guys in front of us are a hole ahead. That made us pretty angry considering the group behind us was no where to be seen on the previous hole. Our pace of play was fine and we weren’t holding anyone up. The only slow pace of play was starting our round 30 minutes later than we signed up for. Never again will I waste my money at this course.
Tee boxes need work and overall course is im good shape
They dont have enough carts
Course is in decent shape except the tee boxes. However, they have tee time intervals at 7 minutes and they were fully booked. Yet they don’t have enough carts? This makes zero sense. We teed off 50 minutes late because of this. There was minimum 4 groups waiting for carts throughout the entire day. Not acceptable. They’re being too greedy with the intervals without having enough carts to make it work. Pace of play was also really slow. Was a 4 hr 45 min round.
Tee boxes
Overall conditions fair to good except tee boxes were horrible. No grass. Dead grass seed in dirt.
I grew up in the area playing high school golf and always enjoyed playing at Cream Ridge. After spending a weekend visiting family in the area on a nice Sunday I wanted to get out for a quick round so I booked a last minute tee time at Cream Ridge. Upon arriving, 40 minutes early to get some short game practice in on one of their two practice greens I wanted to check in with the "starter". I introduced myself and told him my tee time and that I was walk on walking. He mumbled with his head down we aren't on that time yet. So after the not so pleasant welcoming I went over to the practice green and began putting/chipping into the location of my tee, because evidently they no longer cut holes in the practice green for patrons. After about 25 minutes go by and its now 15 minutes to my tee time I check back in with the starter telling him again that I'm walker walking on to the empty slot. he pushes me away again just like he had done to several other patrons at the facility. My tee time slot passes and I go to check in again, turns out tee times are 30-45 minutes because they don't have carts. I tell him I'm walking again and would like to join another time. I finally get out 45 minutes late and the course is in terrible shape, slow pace of place, even broken clubs shoved into the ground as monuments. I should have none this by my first impression of the starter and walked away. To the Facility: get your facility some carts, staff training, and the latest copy of the CDC/NJ COVID 19 golf course operating procedures. To the Starter: a copy of how to be gentleman and a snickers, you're way too grumpy to be anyone's first impression of a facility. To the public: play elsewhere, until the facility and starter meet the above.
Tried of waiting
Course is busy, one hour behind, lots of slow players, I understand, but playing 6 hrs is a bit long. No Course Ranger to get slow folks moving. Fairways are in fair conditions, green are bumping and slow, no one fixes pinch mark on the green.
Mediocre is being kind
The cart situation was terrible
The young kids were fine and polite but one Older “gentleman”? was quite rude
The carts were not sanitized - it looked like a leaf blower was used to “ clean “ the carts
Outrageous ,
The pace of play was poor and we never saw a ranger
Somehow we had different groups ahead of us-strange . Either players skipped holes or started on the back
The scorecard was confusing on one hole
The card called it a par 5
Our gps device had it as a par 4.
The yardage didn’t synch up. Device compared to the card. That’s odd. The scorecard was WRONG
The course was in so so shape.
A shame .
I’d like to go back- the back 9 has some interesting holes , But too many negatives
Nice surprise
Showed up at the course early and the starter couldn’t have been nicer. I had to wait for my playing buddy he was running a little late but the starter said he could work with us, played this course last year and it was in so so shape, what a surprise the course was fairways and greens in great condition, tee boxes need some grass, for the price it was a great value, will play again,
Cream Ridge Does Care
The starter was rude and argumentative to my friend because he inquired about why there was now (but not previously) a $20 additional card to ride alone.
More importantly their sanitizing effort consists of using a leaf blower on the cart - no wipe done with any solution whatsoever. Fortunately I brought my own Lysol spray and paper towels.
Not a ranger in sight all day in spite of the fact that 3 different groups played in front of us during the round
Great deal for $.
Course playing nice. Tees being aerated but the quality of the greens make up for the tee box negatives. Great value at Cream Ridge
Good course for the price
Let’s face it, you can ask for much for a weekend round for $45 walking. The course has friendly staff (the ranger was very informative about the course layout) and the holes offer many challenges. I was surprised the slop is rated at 68! I took off one star from the confusion caused with hole 16 and hole 18 where one is listed as par 4 where is actually a par 5 while 18 is the other way around.
Awful in Every Way
Where do I begin? I had an 11:30 tee time and got to the course at 11:10. At check-in, the girl working the pro-shop wasn’t wearing a mask even though there was a sign saying that everyone in the pro shop needed to wear one. After checking in, there were a bunch of golfers standing by the practice putting green. The 10:52 group hadn’t teed off yet and the group before them were just on the tee. The course was out of golf carts!! I’ve never heard of such a thing. The grumpy starter said the reasoning was that they book tee times 8 mins apart because they need money and that they have this problem all of the time. Really?! Maybe get more golf carts? Not only that but once they finally got carts in the grumpy guy only blowed the carts off with a blower. I asked if it was sanitized and the grumpy guy said they get sanitized every night and it lasts 24 hours. You’ve got to be kidding me with that reasoning! But it gets better! I also asked if there were blue tees on the tee boxes like it said on the scorecard. The grumpy guy said the course superintendent was a germaphobe so he didn’t put them out and also that people were stealing them. I am just in awe at the starters ridiculous responses at this point. The group behind me gave him earful. After a 45 min delay, my group finally tees off. The tee boxes had no grass on them and were just dirt. The greens looked like they hadn’t been cut in two weeks and were very slow. Just a miserable experience. This course really needs to get it together! I will not be coming back.
Pace of play
30min delay because there were no carts. The pace of play is terrible at this place. No ranger anywhere to be found. The people in front of us took 5 shots each to hit the ball a combined 100 yards. 30 shots later and 20min later they were out of range where we could tee off. This was every hole not just 1 or 2. Not worth the money at all.
Not worth $49
I’ve played Cream Ridge many many times going back over 20 years. Avoided it last year because at the end of ‘18 it was in bad shape. It has not gotten any better. We teed off 30 min late. Greens were slow and not well maintained. Tee boxes were very poor. Fairways ok. Lots of people that were clueless on etiquette. One group came across our fairway just as one in my group was about tee off. Another hit my partners ball - after yelling at another group to not hit it. Not worth $49 and my time.
