Still Bad
The best this course has been in months even with the goose crap and leaves. Don't waste your money.
Fairways are good but leaves were not blown away from the greens

Pretty good shape
We had a frost delay of over an hour, but it was chilly so understandable. Course and greens in relatively good shape, very good layout for all levels of play. Maybe a little pricey for out of county.

Middlesex County Should be embarrassed!
Played here for the first time in more than 10 years. ONLY reason I did was because it an outing and didn’t cost me anything. Food is terrible, carts are ancient, at least 10+ years old, greens were unplayable, fairways were bare and where it wasn’t, it was weed infested and the clubhouse smelled like urine. I’d quit golf before ever plying here again, even for free!

Save your money
Pace of play was was horrible. There was more sand on the greens than some of the bunkers. They seem to be aerating the greens a month after every other course. I have been playing there on and off for the last 35 years and Middlesex county still can't get it right.

Suckered
I played the course today after not having played it for almost a month and a half. Last time I played the fairways were burnt with many bare spots and the greens were in horrible condition. I had thought that given end of season that they would have recovered somewhat.
At the front desk before paying for my round I specifically asked them what kind of condition the course was in. I was told “it’s playing really good“. So… I proceeded to pay my fee and go ahead and play. West course was closed so I played the east. First of all the fairways have not recovered well. Worse yet, every single green was recently aerated and sanded. They were basically unplayable.
I was so angry I went in to complain to the management after my round. They did give me a coupon for a free return round but I don’t think that I’ll be back to this until it recovers fully. That will probably be sometime next year.
Overpriced and not well-maintained
I play there regularly, but only because my golfing partner lives nearby and doesn't drive. I actually like the layout and the challenges, especially some tricky shots over water. My issue with the course is the price, which is high, especially when you consider how poorly the course is maintained. It's often a challenge finding grass in the fairways and many greens have worn-out spots of dead grass and dirt. You'll also occasionally see your ball "splash" when landing near the green, but there's no water. It's hit a pile of sand and died on the spot.
Should be in much better shape for the money they charge.
County course.. met expectations.
There was a unexpected cart girl on the course on Saturday morning. I wish there was a liquor license available. The fairways and greens were average and the course layout is challenging. We played the East.
Tamarack
The fairways in very poor conditions. The greens also in poor conditions
Terrible conditions
Course is in terrible condition, every fairway is muddy and patches of dirt all over, the greens aren’t any better, covered in weeds. Tee boxes I understand this late in the season are going to be beat up,
The course was in bad shape. Greens were in very poor condition
Course in horrible condition greens have a lot of bare spots some were unplayable need a crew that knows how to work on course to bring it back

Come back in the fall
This is a really nice course when it is in good shape. It is NOT now. An easily walkable course with enough variety to keep things interesting. Greens are slow. I think because this is a county course that gets a lot of traffic they are loathe to cut them too close for fear of loosing them.
Just played there last week and course is in terrible shape! Many of the fairways are burnt down to dust/mud and the greens are more like sand traps than greens with all of the sanding they've had. Both East and West are under new management which has improved the courses tremendously. They are doing great work with improvements and maintenance. Unfortunately, with all of the heavy rain and then hot conditions we've lost a lot of the improvements. This is temporary though. I agree with another reviewer that they should shut down one of the 2 courses, work on restoring it and then alternating to the other. That would at least put one course in decently playable shape. As it is now I won't be going back until the courses recover. I don't think that will be until at least late fall given current conditions.

Save yourself the money & time
Not only is it difficult to determine the difference between the green and fairway, but the pace of play had us on pace for a 7.5 hour round. At the 5th hole, my 3-some and another 2 groups were all hanging out in the teebox...waiting. The green was 40% brown dirt. There is no such thing as “rough” because it isn’t manicured at all. Probably the worst course I’ve ever played in my life....save yourself the time & money

SOS
The course seems to be heading in the wrong direction when it comes to maintaining the fairways and greens. There’s more to it than just cutting the grass. There are many bald spots all over the fairways and many of the greens seem to have burned out even with all the rain we have had. The East course I believe is in worst condition. I was always curious why I could always get an early tee time. Now I know. I’m hoping the new management team can fix it up. I would like to play here more often but golf is hard enough as it is without play on a rough course.

Fun Morning of Golf
Considering all the rain over the prior two days, there was no surprise when they told us cart path only. Overall the course was not bad...some water in the sand traps, but again not surprising. Finished a full 18 in less than 3.5 hours, no one pushing us and we only occasionally saw the players in front of us, no complaints at all on pace of play. Would definitely play here again...would like to see how the West course differs from the East.
