Great Value - Course conditions always improving
Played on a misty wet day. Greens looked in nice condition but couldn't tell the speed since they where wet. Greens were not too firm since recently aerated and approach shots held well. My past experience with the greens this year have been good with moderate green speeds and rolling pretty true.
The course layout is not too difficult and enjoyable to play.
The course was in great shape from the last time I was there. They had done work on the fairways and the greens were very good.
Most recent round
Tee boxes moved back to normal positions but still rough .Landing areas in fairways are being worked on. Greens recovering from aeration 2 weeks ago.
Centerton
The course is under maintenance. The greens have been treated and are not yet true. They were faster than I thought they were going to be. The tee boxes are being seeded so the course is playing the ladies tees. When it is finished the course should be an excellent choice.to play
fun course
The layout here is great. It’s always a fun time here. The problem this time was the aerated greens and the thick grass. Losing a ball in plain sight is frustrating. The price was good though.
Pathetic
What a waste of time and money. We got a hot deal for 37 dollars and that was too much to pay.
Most of the fairways had little grass. When I land in a fairway I should be rewarded by hitting off a nicely mowed and plush surface.
The greens were riddled with fungus, thereby making an unplayable putting surface.
The rough is 80% crab grass. They tee boxes had very little grass. Pace was excruciatingly slow. Put a darn ranger out there to ensure a decent pace. I know that there are high handicappers out there but' come on, enforce golf etiquette!!! This is a course that should go under. I live nearby and it's been horrible for too many years.
Well said My recent experience was similar in terms of conditions! I will say there was a ranger out on Saturday keeping things moving! I'm still waiting for a response from Empire Golf who seems to crawled under their shell and disappeared! Pathetic is a good choice of words...Hello is anybody home???
The greens were in pretty good shape but the fairways were very overgrown. The course has alot of potential and I would play it again.
Three stars is generously high except for the fact the people we encountered were nice enough! Let me be clear they were hourly employees and not Empire Golf management...
Two stars might be a little high except for the fact the people we encountered were nice enough! Let me be clear they were hourly employees and not management...
Are you serious? 4 stars is a joke for this poorly maintained "golf course"...
Very Disappointing
We have played a lot of golf this fall and summer 6-8 rounds per month. This was by far the worst conditioned course we have played. Again by far. I will say we haven't played Wedgewood yet this season which has also been in terrible shape the last five years or so.. What is most disappointing was all the talk last summer from the course staff on how course management (Empire Golf) had a plan to greatly improve playing conditions. We played Centerton mid spring this season and the course was only fair when many local courses were in their prime. The conditions today were worse than they were last season. Again disappointing considering the plan to improve. Several of the greens, fringe and approach areas were unplayable. The fairways were thin with very little grass and the rough was overgrown with crabgrass. Clearly they are not investing in the course or they don't know what they are doing based on the condition of other courses in the area I feel as though we were ripped off today. They should be embarrassed to charge $50 for that slop. There will have to be a dramatic turnaround for me to ever return. I'm still waiting on that turnaround at Wedgewood as well. Shameful, simply shameful.
I meant to say spring* and summer not fall and summer! sorry
