Flanders Valley Golf Club - White/Blue Course
About
Flanders Valley Golf Course has received praise as not only one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey, but also as one of the best in the U.S. Flanders offers two 18-hole championship courses, White-to-Blue and Red-to-Gold. The courses are spread across over 400 acres of Morris County's idyllic countryside. The White-to-Blue Course has a more traditional layout that sprawls across mostly flat terrain. The golf course may lack elevation changes but there are an abundance of mature trees to contend with on either side of the course, making it very tight in some spots. One of the most memorable holes is the par-4 14th, nicknamed "Top and Right." This slight dogleg left hole has a pond bordering the entire left side of the fairway.

Pretty, memorable finisher! Photo submitted by MarkMolyneux on 11/16/2015
Wonderful public course, well maintained.
Played a great round on this challenging course. Fairways and greens are in great shape.
this course has a great layout
condition was fair. Tees and Fringe on greens was not cut. Fairways were not cut.
great day of golf
Played White/Blue. It was very well maintained and challenging. Played from the Blues and had a great time.
Great Muni Track
I played Blue to White on a Friday afternoon and for a municipal course the pace of play was very except-able. The course was in great shape. On this day the greens were a little slower than I like em but I don't believe that's the norm. Very nice golf course and a great value.
lots of trees
The course was in good condition. It had rained the night before causing "cart path only" conditions. Several fairways were quite wet, but the course still played nicely. With little to no roll you had to hit your shots fully. I would play the course again.
Holy Maintence
played as a foursome..every hole had a mower cutting the rough or switching fairway sides in the middle of our drives..i do appreciate the course condition but geez..girl at the grill could use nicer manners and smile..overall decent course for the right price
Nice course.
Greens were very lush and as a result, very slow, but well-maintained.
The staff was super friendly
The course was in great shape despite all the rain we've been experiencing of late.
Best NJ muni I've plaed too date
Certainly not perfect. Starters did a great job of putting 4 singles together for a 41/2 hour round. Course conditions are good considering the amount of play this place gets. Bunkers need work, clay base and inconsistent sand with a lot of rocks. Greens were really nice, but a little on the slow side. Some holes were cart path only as course does not drain well. Good standby course at a reasonable price.
Flanders red and Gold
6/27 greens in very good cond bit slow, overall course currently in good cond considering all the rain we have received.
drains well, very smooth, friendly staff
Impressed by the smoothness of the course after a few days of heavy rains. greens were true and fairways in great shape. Not that difficult a course if you have your game in order. Only disappointment was the lack of a decent 19th hole and driving range (one nearby). Local recommended Corner Pub was fabulous though.
Still one of the best public county courses.
Green and fairways nice conditions. Some of the traps could use fresh sand. The course was wet the day I played so it was cart path only which slowed the pace of play.
Well kept course
I really enjoyed this course and it is well kept and nice. We happened to go after it had rained for several days so it was cart path only which definitely had an impact on the level of enjoyment but that is not the course's fault. I would recommend this course and will go back. They have 36 holes which is nice too. We played the White-Blue and really had no complaints.
ok course, some of staff are arrogant
reasonable play - was super super super wet when I played. Soaked. No provisions for handicapped and cart guy super super arrogant and very dismissive.
Reasonable course layout - not super difficult but reasonable to play. Greens very slow though. Mostly smooth but a couple were a bit bumpy.
has two sets of 18 (red/gold and white/blue). Red is pretty straight-forward, not overly challenging. Gold is narrow and very hilly. White/Blue is where tournaments (usga amateur, etc have been held).
Always very good.
I play there a lot and love the course. Always in nice shape.
They had aerated the fairways but not a big deal.
good deal. nice, forgiving, confidence builder
it rained quite a bit midway through our round, so you could really attack pins after it let up. it's a nice layout with several doglegs. an easy course to walk - very little elevation change. pleasant golf in the valley woodlands.
Overall, a good deal
Two courses here which is great. The course is manicured and maintained although I think in anticipation of the heat the fairways are cut a little longer. Course also played a bit wet. The fairways were cut at a length that was almost the first cut of some other courses I've played. There is no first cut here and the rough will be a little too long from some higher handicappers. Greens were true, probably ran at about a 10 or 11. Level of play is mid to high, but did not experience delays. Pace of play was fair, and also allowed me to hit a few practice balls around the green so I wouldn't push up on the group in front of me. No one behind us in sight. Will be back, hoping to play the Blue/White. Course will also require you to not hit driver off the tee on all holes which was great. I hit 3i, hybrid, and 3 wood off the tee. For advanced players, some holes will require you to hit draw and fade which is an added challenge.
