Hillsborough Country Club
About
Hillsborough Country Club is tucked away amongst the foothills of the Sourland Mountains. The golf course overlooks the beautiful Amwell Valley, sprawling across lush rolling hills gently sprinkled with mature trees. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels, it is even gentle enough for beginners. While it may not be what you're looking for if you want a long and challenging test, it's great for a casual round with a few tricky surprises. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but the golf course isn't overly punishing if you're slightly errant. Golfers will come across a fair amount of strategically placed sand traps as well as the occasional water hazard. In addition to the course, you can get even more short game practice in on Hillsborough Country Club's practice chipping and putting greens and there is also a driving range available.

Great course and inexpensive.
$25 w/ a cart for this course is the best deal I've ever gotten, anywhere. Easily worth more, especially if you are a Middlesex County resident (you know what I mean if you are). This was my 2nd time playing the course and there is a reason I went back. When the dew dries off of the greens they are very fast and tricky. The course plays a lot longer than the card says because of slopes, doglegs, and hazards.
Only downside when it is warm is a bug problem on a few of the holes on the front 9- bring the bug spray... or pay $10 for it in the clubhouse.
Nice setting
Challenging coarse, it will have you using a variety of shots. Not very long in distance, but you will need planning to score well.
All right
I got on for $25 inc. cart but the quality of the course left a lot to be desired. Many of the fairways bled into another and there were a lot of overgrown trees from the surrounding woods overhanging the field of play. I found many lies to be on a sideways hill that were difficult to hit cleanly. 2 holes were closed to resurface the cart path and the detour was very poorly marked as I almost drove into the paving crew following the white line to nowhere.
For the price I paid using GolfNow.com, it was worth it.
It is a good course with some challenging holes...
Good tight course to hone in on your long iron game
A great short course with a good mix of open flat and tight hilly holes.
