fairways good greens not so good
fairways better than in the past, but still too many bald spots. Greens were recently aerated so putting was hit or miss. It would have been nice to know of the aeration before playing.
Winter golf
Course was in great condition. Greens were decent but it could of been from a lot of rain in the past few days. Fairways were in good shape on the approach to the greens. Workers were out blowing the leaves with their blowers to ensure greens and fairways were clear. I would play this course again. The weather was a little cold, cloudy and very windy, but we were golfing. Typical winter weather.
Couse was decent, but the pace of play was poor today. Too many leaves laying around the greens and fairway, tough finding the ball,
Great place for price
The course is in great shape for this time of the year. Good price for winter and pace was solid. Friendly staff.
One of the top ten in NJ
This is one of the Top ten course in NJ for the price!
It is well maintained and it is pretty course out of country side of NJ.
Played 7 times on this course and I love it every time I play.
Cons: cart is some what faded/ sun is in your eyes during sunset and sunrise
Pros: pretty peaceful environment/ pace is great/ clean/ long par 5
beautiful day and course
Reviewed course earlier , still find it in good shape and greens quick Some tee box were moved back made course play better . this course is worth the fee
Came back for the greens & 18
But had a 5 plus hour round. No rangers. One guys cart broke down in the middle of the fairway and they left it there for 30 minutes. The value and the greens aren’t worth the pace of play. Lotta people yelling four with close tee box/ greens. Lotta people on the wrong fairways. Greens are awesome. Staff friendly.
Monster 18th
This was like playing two different courses. The front is flat and mostly straight away with narrow fairways. The back is a different animal. Course was in great shape. Staff was courteous. The greens were fast. Probably the best deal I’ve found. Definitely going back like this Friday on. Hot deal.
Course was in great condition. Completed 12 holes before severe rain storm .Will return to play again.
Fun Day
Good Time , pace was good course was in good shape.
Slow play
Course is in decent condition even though it’s been dry. Greens were hard and fast again due to lack of rain. Some tee boxes need some maintenance and we had two temporary tee boxes. Course has a nice layout and is a little tough. Slow play in front of us makes for a long day, need some personnel to keep people moving and hard to get in some kind of rhythm. Staff very friendly at shop.
Bring Friends
I've played this course a few times each year, over the past 10 years or so. I used to walk the course, but age and knee problems have changed that over the last 2 or 3 years. I would still recommend walking the front 9, as it's fairly flat with a downhill par 3 4th! However, the back immediately starts an uphill, downhill, adventure that make club selection very important!
The course is in very good shape, tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Pin position can determine your score each time you play this course! Birdie to bogey can occur on almost every hole if you are not a fairly good putter.
Overall this course is one of the best public courses you'll play at a reasonable price. Other area courses are lower priced, but pay a little extra to play this one!
Scenic Layout with Excellent Course Condition
Tees off at 12:30 on a Monday. We were a twosome and played in 3 hours. Course has some scenic holes with some raised greens. The course is in very good conditions especially when you consider how hot the summer has been. We paid $39.00 with a cart. They have gold, blue, white and red tees with significant differences so there is a tee for every golfer.
Cut the grass!!
Hanover is a nice golf course but it is poorly maintained. For some stupid reason the rough around the entire golf course is so long that it’s almost impossible to get out of it. This results in higher scores, frustration, and a very slow pace of play. The last time I played Hanover which was three or four years ago I complained to the management of the golf course that the rough was higher than at any course I had played that year. Unfortunately the same situation existed last weekend. I’ll try in another four years but in the meantime be beware.
