Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Sad But True
Staff was super nice. Not a soul on the course. Layout and course conditions were fair. Bathrooms and entire facility in very bad shape. No paper products at all in the bathrooms. It’s a real shame, Covid must have hit this facility really hard. I will be surprised if they make it through the season. The round was fine and course very playable. All the best for Mays Landing going forward.
Not up to it’s old standard
No starter-which makes it very awkward. People standing around and not going to tee box. I was waiting for some type of altercation to take place. The $39 price was not worth it. Would have to see some other reviews before returning. Fairways were definitely more like a bad backyard.
Some of the greens were in poor condition. A lot of the fairways had large patches of dirt. Only saw one staff member but she was very friendly. The price was reasonable but probably will not return because of the poor condition of the course.
A little good, a whole lot of bad.
The good:
Friendly staff, carts in good condition with auto parking brake, good practice green and short game area. Greens in decent shape.
The bad:
Everything else. “Fairways” and tee boxes in abysmal condition. Weeds and dirt, that’s pretty much all you get. Rough is just overgrown weeds, leaves and sticks. Difficult to play well here.
Found a “deal” for $24 and even that was a little overpriced for the conditions. The layout is decent albeit a little uninteresting. Place as a lot of potential but is in bad shape. Good news is that we had the course to ourselves on a beautiful spring day but that’s bad for business and I can see how they may not have the funds to get this course up to snuff.
Black water
This place looked like it was nice at one time but it is really bad now. Just horrible fairways the greens were a little better but still not recommendable. I gave a few stars for the course because the layouts not bad it just is not maintained at all. Clubhouse looks deserted. I paid $70 for my son and I but I honestly could’ve walked up and played for free nobody was there other than the young lady we checked in with an even younger guy dealing with the carts. I expected better
Condition
Staff is great but the course condition is Poor. I love the place it’s close great layout great staff just needs some love
Fast pace for a round
Course needs a little TLC.. The layout is very nice. It was definitely worth the $18 fee.
Not bad but
Nice course layout but the course is in definite need of some TLC. Like other reviews the back nine is in better condition versus the front. The fees for the course are appropriate so no complaints on my end. Got to golf and it didn’t break the bank.
Needs Maintenance
First time playing course, the course has a great layout and a lot of nice holes. Tee boxes and fairways could use some TLC… greens where fairly nice given the time of year. Drove around in circles looking for the 10th tee but couldn’t find it.. so settled for starting the back 9 on 11. Overall an okay course with potential to be really nice if some general maintenance and TLC is provided to it.
Mays Landing needs help
Love this course but, not being taken care of now. Greens are okay But. Everything else is not. Grill is closed and even the bathrooms on and off the course. Need to be repaired and maintained.
Hopefully, next season will be better. No returning any time soo
Course not in great condition
I heard the course was searching for new ownership. Course was in pretty bad shape. Not worth what we paid for. Has potential but needs a lot of work.
Ok, but better courses in area
Greens were slow, looks like they were aerated less then 2 weeks ago, fairways could use more grass. Clubhouse person very nice, No ranger, pace of play was slower then usual.
