Average course
If you’re looking for a quality course or a good layout, look elsewhere. If you need to get out and hit some balls and can get it cheap it’s ok. The staff is great and the best part of the course by far. Lots of dog legs that require less then driver and usually just an iron off the tee. This includes a “par 5”. Making players hit an iron off the tee on a par 5 should be banned from golf. You can choose to do it yourself, but it shouldn’t be a requirement do to course layout.
Great local course
I always enjoy playing at Golden Pheasant the course is in pretty good effort early spring and has most of the greens looking good. The best part of the course is the availability of tee times and ability to get through a round fairly fast. I wish the course would add a driving range at some point. If your in the area or willing to come down I recommend you play here
Early spring round
Played a fun round with three very friendly and accommodating gentlemen on a beautiful spring day. I realized that this was my first round at Golden Pheasant since 1979. I had set up the round on golfnow the night before. The place was quite busy but pace of play was excellent. I played a course that was somewhat shorter than what I'm accustomed to but I still found the track to be challenging and fun. #17 is a very interesting short 4. The par 3s play nicely. BUrgers and dogs at the turn were grilled outside and delish! Pro shop staff and starter were very cordial. I don't live too close (CC Philadelphia) but I'll go back now! Thanks to my playing partners and our hosts at Golden Pheasant. Great day!
Beautiful Day
The course is really getting into shape. Greens were quick, tees were in decent shape, pace of play was best I’ve seen in years. We had a nice round.
The greens were beautiful!
Despite all the bad wet weather we have been having the course is in pretty good shape. The greens are in great shape and faast.
Just waking up
Course was ok for the early spring. Greens were flat and smooth and fast. Fairways were mostly dry & no rough, yet. Played in 3:45 hrs. No one behind or in front of us!!
wet and windy
It was a late December day after more rain and a little windy but that doesn't factor into the golf course itself. Played senior tees (5200 yards) and cart path only. Fun day overall. Had not played here in maybe 30 years. Some really good par 3's and a couple really nice par 5's. It was quirky on a couple holes but from forward tees had fun making shots I would not normally from white tees. Shot a nice 38 on the back nine. A couple side by side so-so holes not too interesting.
One of my favorites
I've been playing the Pheasant since 1973 and I always like coming back. Public course with personality. 8 and 11 are terrific par 3s and they're continuing to try and improve. I'm never disappointed coming here. It can be serene, at times, and that adds to the experience.
Poor Experience
- Overpriced
- Slow shaggy greens
- Pooled water and drainage issues
- Pace of play slow
- Driving range is a warm net
For $10 less you can play Ramblewood, The Links or Indian Springs. The course has potential with a few nice holes along a creek bed, but the conditions are too poor to capitalize on those opportunities.
Once again, another poor public golf experience.
Save your money and time.
