Good fill in
Was pleasantly surprised with the condition and layout of this course. Its a good fill in when you cant make the big courses. Some challenging holes and some greens where really rolling nice. Enjoyed this course and will play again. Tucked into a gated community, no food except vending machines. (only real draw back) Worth a look, play 18 twice from different tee boxes, that changes things a bit.
well kept course - great shape
If you book directly with the Golf Course you can save 7.95 in booking fees.
OK...Fine...It's Golf
Look, I knew going in this wasn't going to be TPC quality. With that in mind, and the desire to play a low-stress round with my teenaged son, we decided to give Clearbrook a go. It's fine. It's OK. It's a nine-holder built inside a 1990's Florida-style housing complex. Fairways are relatively narrow, so that makes it somewhat challenging. Some very, very odd tee boxes that require hitting through and over mature trees. Greens are slow, slow, slow and folks there clearly don't know about fixing divots. All that said, just go out and hit. Have fun. Enjoy the time with your playing partner(s). Just don't expect much.
Would play again
Surprisingly nice 9hole for 2 rounds. Tee boxes scattered enough to change a few of the holes. Fairways well cared for and overall, a nice spot.
Nice nine
Nice nine hole trade with some shape to the lay out. Some tee boxes have you hitting irons on par 4 due to trees cutting you of which is just a cheap way to make it a "challenge". Fairways and toughs were taken care of well but the fringes had odd patches of grass here and there and the greens could have been better. It's a good course to just get nine in on. Took 2 and a half hours to get around though all due to the group playing ahead sitting in the cart on the path watching one person hit then when that person got back to the cart the next person got out walked across the fairway to their ball and hit and repeat. Hope that isn't a regular group.
Vanilla Golf
Nothing really special about the course. Having 2 sets of tees does change a few holes. But otherwise it's pretty straightforward and mundane, layout wise.
Biggest issue was the slow play and lack of a ranger to do anything about it. At one point we were bottlenecked behind a threesome, then twosome, then a solo walker playing alone, then another solo walker playing alone, then a twosome, then us in a threesome. Made the pace slower than molasses.
Nice place.
People and corse very nice. Needed to have food other then vending machines.
Good for intermediate golfers and helpfull staff
Nice course and easy to walk. Will play this course again
Good value, walking course
Clearbrook is a 9 hole course with multiple sets of tees to allow for 18 holes of play. There are minimal forced carries and water holes making ideal for all. Greens are in good shape but slow. Tee boxes are small but need help. I assume they will grow out.
East to walk course makes it enjoyable but potentially slow pace of play given large # of senior players
Great course
Great course for the price.
Great Value
Friendly staff
Very clean course
Great Bang for your Buck
I play this course regularly. It's short and a great course to play before going out to the big boy courses. Challenging holes, don't be fooled. 9 hole course with 2 different tee boxes gets your 18holes in. For all of those who don't know, try it. You will like it alot. Course always in good shape!
Great 9 hole course that converts to 18 holes well
Love this course. You can't beat the value and it has some challenges throughout with doglegs and some hills and well placed traps. Water appears on a challenging par 4 where a misplaced drive lands you in a fairway trap or in the water.
Nine holes in nice shape
This was the second time playing Clearbrook.
It is a sweet track in Monroe,NJ that is close to the NJ Tpke.
For ten bucks how can u go wrong?
There are a good assortment of holes and the course can easily be walked.
Hidden Gem
I only stumbled across Clearbrook when I received groupons offering great deals. I missed those deals only to discover better ones on golfnow!!! Course was in great condition and very challenging.....Scott and the ranger were very personable.......the only" issue" was that the online gps seemed a bit quirky.....and distances to some of the holes were confusing. But all in all a fantastic experience!!
Clearbrook
I was looking forward to playing as a single this day, to work on my iron play on a course that wasn't very busy, which Clearbrook wasn't on this day. I entered the pro shop to check in and asked if I could go out as a single and was very curtly told NO, that I would be paired up with another player. That's fine, but this guy was not very nice. Overall, the course is in good shape, so kudos to the grounds crew. the greens were in excellent shape. Rough was a bit deep, but this is not Augusta, so this was a good value course if you don't mind some traveling to get there.
Decent course
Good course for the money. Its only 9 holes but they do a good job moving tee boxes around to make they second time around play differently.
The course was nice
Only problems were playing 9 holes twice and
a few holes had trees located right in front of the tee box???when playing a separate set of tees for the second 9
Also, only some drinks out of a machine, no
food, etc.
Mike
Nice course and friendly people. A great course to get your game in shape
Fearbrook
This is good course and for the money. I call it Fear brook because if you are a distance monger like myself you will prosper if you can hit the ball all 3 ways ie strsight, draw, & fade. If you can't do it consistently and still want to be that monger, then this course can instill some fear. You can easily use every club in your bag. I now have a viable backup when I can't get on or to my main course.
9 holes 2x's...........
I did not realize that this was a 9 hole that we play twice, not worth the trip from where I was traveling from, but the course was in good shape!!!!
