Great course for a great price
Clearbrook was a great course to play. A nice pace of play with barely anyone else out on the course. Played a four hour round with myself and 3 buddies on a Saturday morning. Was supposed to rain but just stayed hot and muggy which may have accounted for the lack of people on the course.
Located in a senior community that is gated.
9 holes and can play it twice. Blue tees make for longer and different angled tee shots. Pins were in difficult spots.
clearbrook
great course
really hot day
Nice course
This was a very enjoyable course . We played 9 holes and will definitely play it again
decent features
the course was aeraided, sp? it would've been nice to have this information, purposely avoided other courses, that had this done, made putting extremely difficult, some were very fast, some quite slow, overall a decent course
Why do they open to public?
I guess this is first year to open to public from private inside senior community.
Overall I will not go there to play again. Never friendly atmosphere.
Great value for the money
A good course inside a senior development. Pace of play was good. Recommended
Best value in central NJ.
This 9hole course is a hidden gem. In great shape and Scot, Artie,Frank & Mike are very helpful. I play all over central jersey but this is my home course.
Great Course
People friendly and pleasant. Course well maintained. Not challenging but not easy either..Would and have recommended this course to everyone I know.
Bigest bang for your buck
I walked this 9 hole course yesterday. Played in 1.5 hours. Greens are great, a little slow, I will say 90% of fairways are green. Some weeds. For August can't beat it, $14, I think. Beat time is fall and spring. They really are starting to turn the place around. Already cut some shrubs near the tee boxes on 6 and 8 near around the pond. New bunkers on 8. 6 has a tree cut down near lake. (Always wind up there) 3 is still the hardest hole of the 9.
Cheers
Overrated at best
From the star rating I viewed I expected better course conditions than I got. Greens were terrific, on the slow side but very full. The grass around some of the greens and fringes was the real issue I had with this course. Rocks, dirt, and stone on the outer part surrounding the greens with absolutely no grass to be seen. How do you hit a golf ball off of that surface and expect to get the ball close to the hole. If your going to have a bad area it should be further away from the greens. One other note some of the bunkers were chock full of rocks to the point it would be dangerous to hit out of it. There ad said improvements had been made to this course so I can only imagine how it used to be.
Great course
A very nice course to play on. Large greens and nice tee boxes. Good value for the price as well.
Good fill in
Was pleasantly surprised with the condition and layout of this course. Its a good fill in when you cant make the big courses. Some challenging holes and some greens where really rolling nice. Enjoyed this course and will play again. Tucked into a gated community, no food except vending machines. (only real draw back) Worth a look, play 18 twice from different tee boxes, that changes things a bit.
well kept course - great shape

OK...Fine...It's Golf
Look, I knew going in this wasn't going to be TPC quality. With that in mind, and the desire to play a low-stress round with my teenaged son, we decided to give Clearbrook a go. It's fine. It's OK. It's a nine-holder built inside a 1990's Florida-style housing complex. Fairways are relatively narrow, so that makes it somewhat challenging. Some very, very odd tee boxes that require hitting through and over mature trees. Greens are slow, slow, slow and folks there clearly don't know about fixing divots. All that said, just go out and hit. Have fun. Enjoy the time with your playing partner(s). Just don't expect much.
Would play again
Surprisingly nice 9hole for 2 rounds. Tee boxes scattered enough to change a few of the holes. Fairways well cared for and overall, a nice spot.
Nice nine
Nice nine hole trade with some shape to the lay out. Some tee boxes have you hitting irons on par 4 due to trees cutting you of which is just a cheap way to make it a "challenge". Fairways and toughs were taken care of well but the fringes had odd patches of grass here and there and the greens could have been better. It's a good course to just get nine in on. Took 2 and a half hours to get around though all due to the group playing ahead sitting in the cart on the path watching one person hit then when that person got back to the cart the next person got out walked across the fairway to their ball and hit and repeat. Hope that isn't a regular group.
Vanilla Golf
Nothing really special about the course. Having 2 sets of tees does change a few holes. But otherwise it's pretty straightforward and mundane, layout wise.
Biggest issue was the slow play and lack of a ranger to do anything about it. At one point we were bottlenecked behind a threesome, then twosome, then a solo walker playing alone, then another solo walker playing alone, then a twosome, then us in a threesome. Made the pace slower than molasses.
Nice place.
People and corse very nice. Needed to have food other then vending machines.
Good for intermediate golfers and helpfull staff
Nice course and easy to walk. Will play this course again
Good value, walking course
Clearbrook is a 9 hole course with multiple sets of tees to allow for 18 holes of play. There are minimal forced carries and water holes making ideal for all. Greens are in good shape but slow. Tee boxes are small but need help. I assume they will grow out.
East to walk course makes it enjoyable but potentially slow pace of play given large # of senior players
