Springfield golf
The course needs a lot of work. The golf cart paths are in serious need of repair repaving. Some golf cart paths are being uprooted by tree roots making the road extremely bumpy too many weeds the greenskeeper needs to get rid of a lot of the weeds especially along holes 6, 7, 11. The day we played they had cut the grass recently and left the clippings there, making finding the ball difficult. Springfield is a good confidence booster course. They need to bring back the chipping practice hole with the sand bunker. With some routine maintenance and changes to the tee boxes this is a good course to go play for the price.
Horrible
Pace of play was awful, greens need work as nobody repairs ball m.j parks Hornets nests all over 1st and 2nd fairways. Never again
Back nine is a swamp poor drainage. But for the price I pay. It’s ok I guess
Major drainage issues
Back nine closed due to flooding. Standing water in fairways and inches of water in traps. Difficult to locate balls hit into the fringe of the greens because the grass is overgrown. Conditions were terrible and it made for an unpleasant experience.
Drainage issue they haven’t addressed
Pro:
-Staff Friendly
-They have golf, mini golf, chip and put, putting greens, driving range, and a chipping area.
-pace of play was great
-greens are solid
Con:
-course is short
-massive drainage issue (so bad they closed the back 9)
-bunkers are unplayable
-the grass is over grown around the bunkers
Final Remarks: I would not recommend playing this course unless you are brand new to golf and are looking for somewhere close to learn.
Conditions Ok
My biggest concern in any course is the greens. And in this course they’re good. Heavy rain has flooded out several of the other areas. And some of the fairways were flooded. But overall they were OK. 60 for a Sunday round is reasonable.
Needs work
The course needs work on sad trash and fairways. Greens were in good shape. This round was after heavy rain and the course is always wet anyway so it was pretty swampy.
Great for beginners
I started playing here over 20 years ago. I like to bring my daughters here for a fast round. Tight so keep your head on a swivel.
