Great for Hickory Golf
I play a lot of Hickory golf and this course is perfect design for this style of play. I will bring other hickory players there this season to introduce them to the course.
Terrible
No practice facility. No food or beverages whatsoever. I had to pay double cart fee because I refused to share my cart with a stranger which is disgusting since covid is still a threat. Never again.
Great pace of play
Great pace of play today. 3 hrs 40 min walking. Course is on the smaller side but in great shape. Definitely going back soon.
A Fantastic experience
It was really a good game and I had a fantastic experience at golf club at middle bay.
Friendly staffs, good condition of courses
I recommend all my golf mates!!!
Really Nice Course!
Staff Friendliness: A couple of the older guys are a bit grumpy until they get to know you. Wiley Williams, an old pro that works there as a ranger, is awesome. He’s super nice and is always willing to help you with your swing if you ask him. Jerry, the manager is a super cool guy and Craig at the register is a nice guy as well.
While not a long course, you’ve got to be accurate with your tee shots on a lot of the par 4s, or else you’re in trouble. The course itself is really well taken care of. The tee boxes are in good shape as well as the greens. They’re not very fast at all but they have a decent amount of undulations that can make them tricky. The bunkers are pretty much rock free and always have enough sand to play your shot if you end up in one.
One problem with this course, and maybe the only one, is on the back with holes 11-14. The greens and tee boxes are super tight and errant shots find their way to you often, whether you’re at the tee box or on the greens. Also, these holes have OB stakes on either side to keep players from playing shots from the wrong fairway, but everyone pretty much ignores them. This slows down play dramatically, especially on the weekends or any time it’s busy. Not mention it’s pretty dangerous. Another issue is the warm up area. The hitting bay is pretty beaten up with mats that are terrible and nets that let balls though and down the hill all the time. I never hit balls there. I just swing a club to warm up. The putting green is very good. It’s huge and has lots of different features for you to practice all kinds of putts.
All in all, it’s a good place. At 65 bucks, with a cart, for non card holders, it’s not a bad value and like I said before, the course is really well taken care of. Enjoy!
Super accommodating staff
Course is in great shape. One of the best values in the area. We had the fourth golfer accidentally book a half hour after our tee time. Every slot was filled up on a very busy Friday but Jerry on the staff was able to resolve our issue and get us all playing together in minutes. Great guy too. Definitely will be back.
