Harkers Hollow Golf Club
About
Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

Slow round
5 hour round due to great weather and playing on a holiday(Veterans Day). Fairways and rough in good shape. Greens surprisingly hard and fast. Several quality approach shots didn’t hold and bounced off greens. Pin placements were on slopes on most greens, so If you missed a downhill putt it ran forever. Bunkers in good shape considering how late in the season. Staff did a great job on leaf removal. Cart paths continue to deteriorate and need serious repair. Overall an enjoyable day on a challenging course, but would be better if pins were in fairer locations.
They've done an excellent job of bringing what was once a private course that had gone into disrepair back to life. Fairways, rough and greens were in excellent shape. Tee boxes were somewhat patchy and cart paths need work but pleased with the condition of the guts of the course. Very reasonable green fees. Will definitely be back.
Compact and challenging course
It's a compact course with good quality greens. It was fun playing here.
Improving conditions
As like many other reviews greens were perfect fairways a little long but nice .Great layout with scenic views.Teeboxes need work but I'm sure they have a solid plan on improving this course going forward and they're well on the way.
Greens in great shape. Wish pace of play was faster. Almost 5 hours
A Good Challenge
The reviews spoke of the course being re-developed and it was easy to see where improvements have been made as well as where work still needs to be done. To me, it appeared that the main focus was on the course itself. The course was in good shape. The greens and fairways were excellent. Tee boxes were a bit worn, but it is the end of the season. Things like the cart paths were in rough shape, but I would rather have smooth greens and fairways and bumpy cart paths, that have rough and bumpy greens with smooth cart paths. I will definitely plan on playing here again.
Great course
Great course. Well kept. Friendly staff.
Definitely recommend to anyone
Not a course to walk or ride
Everything was really good but there was two things that were not good first there was small fly’s that flew around your face here and there on the course just annoying, second was the cart paths were pretty broken up but it was acceptable cause the course is very hilly ( and we got a decent price on golf now )
