The Meadows at Middlesex Golf Club

The course ended up adding in groups between normal tee times during a busy saturday. Didn't tee off until 20min after tee time and had to wait 15 minutes between every shot. Left after 9.

Some Tee boxes need a Little TLC. Fairways good shape, Ruff a little gnarly which it should be, greens in nice shape and decently fast and were probably a 10 1/2 to 11 on speed. Overall staff and golf course are good.

Starter doesn’t understand his job. Sends our group up to the first tee box and immediately send another group behind us even though we were the only 2 groups of the hour. They group behind us had to wait because the starter did not space us properly. The starter then comes driving by in a cart and sees the group waiting at our tee box and begins rudely telling us we are “too slow” even though we were on pace to finish in just over 3 hours at that point. I then begin to speak to him and he waves me off and drives away. Acted like a child when he was probably 50-60 years old. Course was in God awful shape. If you were one yard into the rough off of the fairway it wasn’t even worth trying to hit the ball. Everything is overgrown with puddles, ditches, dirt patches. You name it, this course had it. Way too expensive for what it is. This is the worst golf course and golfing experience I have ever had. Cannot imagine they get many returning customers. I recommend you keep looking, this course aint it.

Our tee time was at 11:50. At 11:40 we were ready to play but there was a threesome at that time. Since we were only two players with a cart they offered to let us go in front of them. The starter said no because we were waiting for another two players that we didn’t know. By the end of the first hole another twosome somehow got between us and the threesome. We asked the ranger about where they came from and he did nothing about it. We were stuck playing behind them (very slow older couple) all day. Three holes were open in front of the threesome that offered to let us start before them. Very frustrating especially when the starter said “ I run this place”.

this is the first time i have ever reviewed a golf course.

i played the meadows golf course in plainsboro, nj, on saturday july 24th. the course was very busy, and pace of play wasn't that great. we finished our round in around 4 hrs 45 mins. it would have been nice to see the rangers more often to speed things up.

the course is in great shape, minus a few tree lined fairways. one employee i spoke to stated that there is a major tree removal project planned for the course to open it up. those fairways need it.

the greens were rolling very true, and in pretty good shape for this time of year. local competitor courses are not fairing as well. tee boxes showed the amount of play from the day, but overall they were in good shape.

bunkers have fresh sand in them. the rough was weed free and mowed appropriately.

overall the course is in great to fantastic shape. cudos to middlesex county for offering a great course to enjoy.
