Lost my phone on the course, but it was found and returned!
Kudos to the staff and the patrons of this course. I managed to let my iPhone 14 fall out of my golf bag while playing it (dragging my hand cart into and out of the gully alongside the first hole jostled it loose from an insecure pouch on my golf bag), but didn't realize it was gone until the twilight round was over. I called the course the next morning to alert them, and a few hours later they called me to say that a player had spotted it in the gully (blocked tee shots find it pretty easily) and brought it back to the clubhouse. I had thought my phone was gone and was so glad to be able to get it back.
As for the course itself, it sometimes suffers during the summer but otherwise is good. There are a lot of nasty bunkers in front of greens; the trick to a decent score is to avoid them. The bar and restaurant in the clubhouse is very popular in late afternoon/evening hours.
Horrible golf course
Please don’t waste your money on this golf course. The fairways has no grass, water logged, the greens are horrible. I wouldn’t pay 77 for this golf course.
We appreciate the feedback. We are working through some irrigation issues right now and expect that the course will return to its usual standard in the near future.
Horrendous
I have never seen fairways in worse shape in my life. The course needs serious maintenance and is not worth anything close to the greens fees. It was a real shame bc the facilities and staff were great.
Hello Matt,
Thank you for the kind words regarding our staff. We are working through some irrigation issues right now and expect the fairways to bounce back soon.
Challenging course
Narrow fairways, must be accurate off the Tee and keep it straight, Trees everywhere. The fairways are chunked up a bit and need grass in some spots but get a decent score overall considering its a county course and its been dry. The greens were a little slow but true enough. You can score if you’re long and true off the Tee. The layout was challenging for a county so it can hand you a bad day if you’re off. Overall it played as expected. Decent but not my first choice.
Not a place to play
Tees-hard as a rock, not much grass
Rough-some areas are okay, it’s been a hot summer so I’m not surprised about the burnt out areas
Fairways- yikes, playing off concrete in some areas
Greens-decent, but slow. Didn’t mow or roll on a Saturday morning.
Hello Jeff,
Thank you for the feedback. It has been a rough few weeks with the weather and the course is showing he effects. Hopefully we get some rain soon.
Thank you for the positive review of The Meadows!
Thank you for the 4 star review! Hope to see you again soon!
Bang for your buck
Nice course for the price they charge. Friendly staff. Well-maintained greens and fairways. Difficult sand traps, made this public course the best and most difficult to play in NJ.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed your experience at The Meadows!
Course Fell Off
Fairways were in bad shape. Greens were decent, tee boxes were ok too. Fairways looked like they hadn’t been cut in a week on some holes and other holes they looked like the grounds crew scalped the turf.
The layout is solid but your typical municipal park course layout. Nothing to write home about. Pace of play is always decent here but that’s because the staff actually care. Bar/restaurant is very fairly priced. Haven’t tried the food but a bottle of water and a Gatorade cost me $4.50 altogether at the turn.
Thank you for the feedback. The weather has hurt our fairways. We are doing our best to handle this rough stretch of weather.
Beautiful fun course
Course is 10x better than it has been the past few years. Greens are beautiful.
Thank you for the 5 star review! Glad you enjoyed your experience at The Meadows!
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you were able to get your phone back! Hope to see you again soon.
