About
River Vale Country Club (formerly known as Bergen Hills Country Club.) sprawls across the gently rolling hills of northeast New Jersey. It has been ranked on Golf Digest's list of "Best Places to Play," but it still manages to remain one of Bergen County's most well kept secrets. You'll hardly ever run into crowds on this golf course. The layout has a classic design that incorporates a variety of elevation changes. Tricky uphill and downhill lies will be your biggest challenge on this layout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk beside the greensides and there are several holes where water hazards come into play, including the par-5 fifth, which has a lake on either side of the green. River Vale a tight golf course that demands accuracy and while it's not overly formidable, your skills will definitely be put to the test.

As good as ever
First time playing River Vale in a couple of years (due to injuries), and the course was just as challenging and as much fun as I remembered it.
There are lots of divots on the fairways, and a good addition to the carts would be sand or a grass seed mix so golfers can repair them. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have the staff, including rangers, remind golfers to fix their ball marks on greens. There were way too many of them on many greens, particularly the Par 3s.

All good here , the best service , show up , kind always , course in good shape , always fix your divots and play faster

Rough was up and very penal. That's ny excuse and I am sticking with it

Excellent course, greens very well kept, very friendly staff, nice electronic carts, water at almost every hole. Enjoyed the round of golf (all 18 holes).
