Nice layout and overall solid experience
Whatever can be done to decrease the amount of wasps would be a good thing. There were a few greens where the wasps will rush you off the green by swarming. Aside from that I cant think of many more negatives. One unnecessary “cart path only” on a long par 5. Cant speak to the drainage of the course since it was a hot dry day. Overall I will certainly be recommending this course to my peers.
Pleasantly surprised
Enjoyed the course. Good use of the terrain with some fun elevation changes. Interesting dog-leg holes make for some club decisions of some tee boxes like 10 and 12 on the White nine (depending on the box you play from). I thought greens were the perfect speed for a public course, which some may find "slow".
Rockleigh was in good shape. Okay The greens were a little slow but okay
Best Conditions in Years
I was pleasantly surprised to see Rockleigh with substantial course condition improvements. Fairways were absolutely outstanding with a PGA tour feel to them. Super low cut where balls would continue to roll while maintaining lush green grass. Greens were solid and rough was fair. In need of work in certain patches though were grass isn’t growing.
Traps were a mess from recent rain but can’t expect a municipal course to drain them. I do think the traps could’ve been better sand wise as many had a sandbox feel along the upslopes.
Overall, was pleasantly surprised by the improved conditions and will look forward to returning. Fairways were incredible!!
Good coarse
