Water traps every where!
The course has one or two legit lakes/rivers proper water traps. The fareways are just covered with water and puddles and mud from poor maintenance basically making the course unplayable. Not even worth the $15 which is a cheap round of golf in Bergen county. Oh, and mowers, septic pumpers, and fareway maintenance actively occurring on a Friday at 10am. Laughable.

Poor course condition
It was a wet whether so I understand that many puddles were spotted. But it was challenge to hit a ball surrounding many puddles. The terrible part was the way to 8th hole. It was hard to spot it and also a long way walk. 8th hole's condition was the worst.

Course was filthy. Covered in goose excrement. Very disappointed. Will not go back.

Great value
The Blue 9 is amazing for what it is. But you have to know what you're getting yourself into. Here's the deal:
The course is for beginners. There are tons of beginners here and the pace is slow. I take my wife here and there are a lot of other beginners so she doesn't feel too intimidated. The starters and staff are all very friendly. The pro shop is well stocked and there's a small dinette.
It's very cheap to play there. The course conditions are mediocre and the greens are slow and sometimes bumpy. But they are commensurate with the price and for beginners it doesn't really matter too much. You get what you pay for and as long as your expectations are reasonable it's fine.
I wouldn't come here with my guy friends who play golf frequently--there are a lot of other courses nearby foe that. This golf course serves a specific purpose. For what it is and for the price, the Blue 9 absolutely cannot be beat. I would highly recommend it for beginner golfers.

Just not taken care of
I played the 9 hole blue course. I know it’s only $12 to play but I would expect course conditions to be a little better. Leaves all over the place including fairways and bunkers.

Good Beginners Course
I am a beginner and I found the course challenging but easy for someone that plays more often. The course is not well taken care of but not the worst I've seen. On site refreshments and pro shop is nice.

Ehh
About what you would expect for $17. Course was in rough shape. Geese droppings everywhere. Most tee boxes were pulverized. Massive swimming pools of water in the bunkers. Pace of play was horrendous. Sight lines on the longer holes were not pleasant - had nothing to do with difficulty, just not nice to look at. Greens were ok for this late in the year. Decent pro shop and snack bar. Main issue was pace of play. Log jam at every hole. Nine holes took just under 3 hours.

Nice round on a Friday late morning. Friendly team/starter, greens were “ok”.

Great Value for a Quick 9
I always believe that you get what you pay for. Rockleigh Blue is exactly that. $19 for 9 holes of golf at 7am on a Sunday is a great value. It’s an easy walk, and the course is 9 holes (par 33). The greens were surprisingly in much better shape than I anticipated, and the rest of the course was as expected. When looking to get out and practice this is a decent spot to do so. Also a great spot to bring the kids as they learn the game.

Rockleigh Blue
This is a decent 9 hole course. Due to EPA ruling has has to give up 2 par 4 holes and replace them with par 3’s. Fairways were in very good condition and the greens were the best I’ve seen them in some time. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Off course amenities are minimal. The pro shop is small but well stocked and the Pro is very helpful and knowledgeable.
