Thanksgiving frost
Even in frigid conditions the couse is still fun to play.
Had a frost delay until 945am so managers decided on shotgun start so golfers could get home to dinner.
You should give this course a shot
I came back to Preakness Valley after 8-9 years of not playing there. 10 years ago, this place was not much better than a cow pasture. The staff were a bunch of crabby old farts who treated the golfers as an interruption in their day of reading the papers. No tee times, so unless you were first on line, it was a long wait just to tee off. the starters didn't care, so by 8:30 the pace of play was sure to fall to 5 hours of more. Just a really bad experience.
A friend said that things had gotten much better, so I gave it a shot and I was really shocked at how much the place had improved. First of all, they now have Tee times either directly thru the local PVGC websire, or thru GOLF NOW. as to the golf itself, the course has been dramatically improved. The Tee areas are well tended. The fairways have been fixed and maintained, and even the off-fairway grasses are well maintained. neither course is very long, the whites on the East course are 5533 yards and the west a little longer at 5867 yards.
The staff is still a bunch of older men, but they are no longer crabby.
Give either the west or the east course a shot. it beats working.
Construction
Holes 7 and 8 are barely playable due to construction. No notification of it on their website. Range closed for some reason, no cart girl. Love this course usually but we paid full price for a below par experience this time.
Good course, friendly staff
Overall was a good day. Frost delay to start but backed up some things staff did great job getting everyone out. Pace of play needs some work. Friendly staff, course was in good shape considering everything.

There was a frost delay, and the staff handled it with the utmost professionalism. Very accommodating and very polite. First time playing here. Will definitely be back again.
Nice shape - impressive improvements
Haven’t played Course in a couple of years - impressed with improvements-surprised course was in such Good Shape- happy I made a return visit !
Rained out- did not play
Due to rain, storm club Website said course was closed. Did not play.
