Excellent course with options
This is one of my go to courses. It’s a great combination of fun yet challenging. Totally walkable if you have the push cart. Staff is always friendly and doing everything they can to take care of the course. Especially at this time of the season, the boxes and greens were in incredible shape.
oh what a day
I played my best game of the season on the East course on Saturday. Despite a 40 minute delay of heavy rain we still finished 18 in 3.5 hrs. We were going to call it quits after 9 but then the rain turned to just cloudy with no humidity or rain and we finished the back 9. The other 2 people were were playing with bailed and I assume others did the same hence the fast play.
The course held up well in the rain. The greens were slightly slower and no bounce on the fairways. The grounds crew however couldn't tell me if the course remained open after the rain . They looked confused.
After we finished we went to grab bite answer treated to a live band playing 40s and 50s big band music. A very entertaining day

Always a pleasure
Preakness valley golf course has gone through some tremendous renovations since I started playing there many years ago. The condition of the course is always perfect when I go there and since I often play as a single, I meet a lot of nice people. The restaurant, In the Drink is great. They have good food and a nice bar plus in the summertime. They have live bands on weekends.
Also, they have a really nice driving range that has been totally renovated as well.

Incredible Transformation
I cut my teeth on this course well over a decade ago. The improvements and course conditions are honestly shocking. From the new driving range to the new club house, Belgian block curbs - and the tee boxes were in country club condition. This used to be my county course as I lived in the county at the time. I’ve since moved to Morris county and enjoy the courses there, but holy cow- what a great job they did at Preakness.
Just Awesome!!!
I have to say, I couldn’t be happier and more impressed by any other public course's in the tri state area.
I have nothing but positive things to say about either the east or west course.
