Course has been in better shape
Probably just because the season is winding down, but some of the fairways are chunked up from heavy play after all the rain we had. Overall good round aside from the pace.
Nice course , rude golfer behind us
Played as a single. Grouped with three great guys. All good golfers. Played from the white tees. Holes all unique. Many strategically placed bunkers. Tee boxes and fairways in very good shape. Greens decent. Had slow group in front that we waited on almost every hole. Had group in back hit up on one green on front nine as we walked off. One women in that group drove up in front of me as I was teeing off on another hole. If not for one of my group telling me to stop, I would have likely swung and may have hit her. Later on I think hole 14, a short par 4, she drives up to another of our group while teeing off to tell us to speed up. The group in front had just walked off and all in group can hit 260plus. She wouldn’t stop complaining. She could have seen at least 3 of us hit fringe of green if she wasn’t clueless. Later on 17, she again hit up on us. Very frustrating. A person like this should not be out there. Funny thing, we still played in 4 hours.
Fun Course
Condition was great for the time of year. Walked 18 in 3.5 hours so pace was excellent
Mercer county golf course is top level public golf
Conditions were excellent even with greens being aerated recently. Enjoyed layout very fair if you do not spray ball more than 20 yards off the tee left or right . Good position of sand traps keep you on your toes and most greens are just elevated so club up on your approach shots. Excellent value and fine conditions. Played the East course. Both courses are in great shape.
Challenging
This course has it all! Definitely worth the money and challenging from all tee as well. Will be returning
firm and fast
I had not played the East Course in many years and really enjoyed returning. The course was in good shape and the turf was extremely firm and hard. Even on a well struck full wedge, you had to play the ball well short of the flag to allow it to run on. The wind gusted to over 30mph so it was tough conditions to score despite the sunny day and warm temps. The fairways were also firm and the roll on your drives was unreal. 'For a county course its a great facility and well run. The scenery is lovely and you'll enjoy your round here.
