Good layout plays somewhat shorter than yardage. Bunkers can be challenging on short side of pin. Greens are consistent but slightly slow not too bad. Some tees need TLC but have seen way worse.
perfect day for golf
I always enjoy playing this course, the weather, the course conditions were perfect today.
This is what a county course should provide.
The grounds and buildings are well maintained and the facility is an attractive place to play golf. There are two
18 hole courses, one traditional- the west and east, links style. Mercer County should be proud of providing its
residents such a fine facility. The fairways, tee boxes and greens are in great shape. At an earlier visit we noticed
the bunkers were not maintained and had stones and less than acceptable sand. Fortunately that
has now been remedied to compliment the level of care provided the rest of the grounds. A wonderful
golfing experience with challenging fairways and beautiful scenic vistas.
Mercer oak east
Rain in the forecast kept the course traffic light. I had to work through a down pour on hole 1 but everything cleared up after that. The course conditions were a little soft but fairways and greens were in super shape. The staff were friendly and helpful. A bonus to playing this course is the wildlife you can encounter. I saw some wild turkey and deer today. I recommend this course it is wide open and has a links feel.
Amazing
Such an amazing course! Hard to score but makes it challenging! Make sure you stay in the fairway if not you’ll be hitting three instead of two! Love the course playing west tomorrow!
Great day of golf
Course was in great shape pace-of-play was about 3 and 1/2hr
Staff was friendly would definitely recommend this course
Great course!
Overall good experience for the first time thou the green can be better. it's too slow.
East course
This course was awesome. It has the length and character greens with slopes that make you think of the approach shot. I walked the course and it which i am happy to do so again.
Mercer Oaks
Played the links style.. east course. Nice golf course, great value, greens were airrated I'd imagine when greens are running good this is a very good test of Golf.. makes you hit every club in the bag. Looking forward to going back and plying the West which is tree lined and presents totally different style.. over all very nice facility
East Course - Fun golf day on a cold, windy day
Mercer Oaks East is becoming a favorite track of mine compared to the West these days. It's winter golf so it's difficult to comment on its conditions, but for a cold, long winter, I have zero complaints.
The day was sunny in mid-30s at tee off and wind was close to 10mph, which isn't a horrible day at all for winter. The course plays easier when the fescue is dead and it's very difficult to lose balls on this course, which is why I enjoy it in the fall/winter time.
The tee boxes have thawed a bit so it was able to take tees - a month ago, it was impossible to stick a tee into the ground. The greens were relatively receptive and didn't ricochet off as if hitting the cart path, which it did in January.
Personally, I thought the greens acted very true and at times a bit slower than you'd think for a frozen green. You had to hit the ball a little bit harder to the hole or it would veer off slightly if not hit hard enough due to the way the grass was bent (probably due to spike marks).
All in all, the course was fair, not too wet for mid-March, and a lot of the goose leftovers were cleaned up or broken down. I'm really looking forward to playing this course within the next couple weeks and playing into the wind and downwind. You get the wind all over the course, which makes it a ton of fun.
Good for the time of year
Course was in good shape for the time of year. There was a twosome holding up the course so we jumped around them. Great layout. Folks in the pro shop were very friendly.
East course
Staff super friendly!
Course was in great shape.
Greens rolled fast.
Even on a windy and cold day, we had a great time!
Mercer Oaks East drains well
I thought I was gonna be in for a very very messy round of golf but I quickly learned that Mercer Oaks East course drains very well. There are only two holes where I couldn’t walk directly to my ball because of wet conditions. The course was cartpath only and that was definitely a wise decision but I’m usually a walker anyway so it really didn’t matter to me.
Oh trust me I can’t wait to get back out there.
February golf in NJ
Course was in good shape for February
Pace of play was perfect
Greens in good shape for winter
You get 75 degrees in NJ in February, you just have to play
Nice course to play in February
The weather is record high in mNew Jersey. The course is in good condition even after melting snow and rain a couple of days before. Most of fairways are dry. The lace of play is good with course pack of golfer.
Great Winter Course
Pace of play was great. Crews were still out making the course look good. Had a blast
