windy and cool but still fun
My expectations were meet on this chilly windy January afternoon. A member twosome were kind enough to let us join them as there were only foursomes in front of us. The course played very well for this time of year and i look forward to playing again when the weather improves.

Great course - well maintained
Gem of a course
Can't say enough good things about the course and the staff. Wide open fairways compliments the great design.
Enjoyed playing
Course was in amazing condition
Enjoyed play
Excellent course
Fair way and greens were excellent condition.
Mercer oak east
Excellent condition n friendly staff
Slower than molasses
Nice course, good layout, good conditions. But don't go there if you have less than 6 hours. Waited on every shot. Ranger came out to tell us we had to quit after 15 holes because of darkness. First time we had seen him since the first tee. He obviously wasn't out there getting anybody in front of us to speed up.
Poor Pace of Play
This was my second time at this course. I had a 2:20pm tee time I was unable to finish the last 2 holes due to pace of play. There was no ranger to be found to control the pace of play. The only time they came out was to let us know we couldn't finish 17,18 because he wanted to go home. Reason was that we had to bring the carts in but in reality we could have easily finished this course if they managed it better. Too many walkers and 4 somes at this course, be prepared.
Potential...but poor course conditions
Everything about this course has potential. Layout, staff, greens. Actually, the green were still in some pretty decent shape considering that just about all of the grass in the fairways and rough was below average. I know this summer killed quite a few courses, but it was still pretty bad out there. Not really rewarded for hitting the fairway.
If you like hard pan fairways
I've seen cow pastures in better shape. By all rights this coarse should be closed for the season. It will take major work to get this back in shape.
We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your round with us, Dave. We're always working to perfect our conditions and we hope you'll play here again in the future.
Like its west sibling, this course offers a real escape
Having just played Mercer Oaks West, and being very impressed, we wanted to try the east course and see how it measured up. While the east course is not as scenic or quite as challenging, it nevertheless is a pretty course, open and unblemished by perimeter houses. Unlike many public courses, tee times matter and the friendly starter/ranger was diligent in providing spacing among golfers to facilitate a nice pace of play. Both courses offer enjoyable golfing experiences at very fair prices.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Jim! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your round with us and we hope to see you again soon!
Good course for a fall afternoon
Played on a sunday afternoon in a twosome.we got the round done in three hours and never caught a group.overall the course was in good shape and the greens rolled true.
You made great time! We're very happy to hear that and that you enjoyed your round overall.
Surprising
Having played this course quite a few times but not in while, I was surprised at the poor condition (relative to its usual condition) of the course this time. Greens were recently aerated (why no mention of this on Golf Now? no discount offered), tee boxes were poor in some areas and even the fairways were a bit beaten up on many holes. Understanding that the weather has made maintaining good course conditions challenging, Mercer Oaks usually does a better job of dealing with this.
Thank you for the feedback. We do apologize for the miscommunication about our aeration dates. The heat does make maintaining perfect conditions a challenge but we expect them to improve greatly as the heat abates. We hope you'll come and play here again soon!
Nice
Mercer Oaks East is an open style course compared to the West course. Lots of bunkers, both fairway and green side. Nice layout. Longer than most courses from the white tees. Will play again.
Great to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Course to play
I have previously played here and enjoyed the course. The fairways have taken a beating with the heat, that effects most area courses, but other than that, Mercer Oaks is a place to play.
Thank you for the 4-star review! Yes, the heat takes a toll but we're coming out of it and have no doubt our conditions will blow you away next time. We hope to see you soon!
Awesome course
It was my first time playing there.. I've played Mountain view a couple of times, but thought to give this course a try. No regrets! It's in beautiful shape!!! Highly recomend this track! End up shooting a 73 from the blues, so I'm a happy camper, lol!
Congrats on the 73, Eduard! That's a heck of a round! Please come and see us again soon!
Nice course and layout
first time playing the east course. It was in good shape and a good value for the money I will play again.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review! We're happy to hear from our golfers and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Not Bad
First time playing the East course. Course was in great shape, greens rolled nice. Not much variety on the par 4's. Would probably play again. Little over-priced but overall a good experience.
Thank you for your feedback, Doug! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your round with us and we hope to see you again soon!
East Course
I started playing the East course in the rain and immediately felt I was playing a special course. It's a links-like layout and the rain just added to the experience. I love the layout. It has very friendly landing areas for tee shots and then becomes more difficult with approaches to the green, but in general is a friendly course. A few of the greens have burnt out spots and the rough is inconsistent on quite a few holes, but I didn't mind. I actually felt it all contributed to the naturalness of the course.
I found this course exuded lots of character and drew me in with it's cohesiveness. Some courses you become tired of as you get through 14 holes, but I was invested in every shot on this course. Loved it.
Thank you for your 5 Star review, Paul! We are thrilled to hear how special you felt our course was and how much you loved it. Please come back and play with us again soon!
We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy our conditions. We're continuously working to improve our conditions and we hope you'll play us again in the future.
