Amazing conditions, even with Covid.
It’s early in the year, and we’re dealing with Covid restrictions and such, but this course is still immaculately kept. Last year I played over 10 different courses and none of them had ball washers, towels, or divot repair bottles on tees or in carts. Mercer Oaks had all of them! Also the bunkers are already filled with new sand, you’re not hitting out of the muddy crap that was under the snow for two months like most courses around here. I was very happy with how the east course is laid out too, traditional links style with crazy bunkers and a good amount of water, few trees.
Great wide open course
Not your typical links course; this feels more like a traditional course minus the trees and some extra bunkers. Great course if you have a slice as the rough isn’t terrible either and there isn’t a lot of fescue. Greens were fun and in good condition; will absolutely be back.
Inconvenient Green roll
4hrs.30min over all walk to play. Pace is good.. fairways are in great shape. Bankers are enough sand to get out the ball. Greens are in slow roll side and most green has stone chips on surface, which mean couldn't get true roll, it totally change the direction without slope angle. Would play again definitely
Spring Round
Course in good shape. Greens still a little bumpy from aeration.
A course going down hill
The course, layout, staff and club house are great. The course is in disappointing shape. The rough was very short, didn't look like it was growing in at mid-May, tee boxes were beat up, numerous stones/rocks in sandtraps. Always loved the course, but has not been properly cared for.
Great course for a great price
Course is recovering from maintenance like many other courses but at least they charge a fair price. Fun layout and in a month when the greens and tee boxes recover from aeration it’ll be a gem. Will be back
March being March
75 degrees the day before, 50 and blowing 15-20 day I play! No one out there. Course pretty fin for overnight rain. Wide open place….prob not the best idea to play when it’s windy!
Beautiful setting and layout
It has been 5 years since I last played Mercer Oaks East. The setting and layout of the course is sensational . You feel like you are far away from civilization in a beautiful place with nature abundant. The course was a bit mushy, the fairways didn't provide much roll and the greens were quite slow on this day. The traps are huge and were like cement with hard packed sand.
We had a great day and the weather was perfect. The facility as a whole is very nice. I know that the course conditions will be better on a future visit but it certainly did not impact a great day!
Not bad
Greens a little beat up
Some Sand bunkers like cement
All in all not to bad for $50
I would come back
