Too harsh of pace by ranger
We finished 18 holes in 4 hours and 20 minutes
Which is probably average for foursome players rounding but at 7th hole ranger’s following us told us we’re slow so speed up but at that time we did not see any players behind us then 11th hole
He came to us and said pick up the ball and move
Because we are too slow playing. That makes me thinking that it’s not fair to control the pace of play
If we’re playing slow so next group waiting on us
to hole out
Then you can say that we should pick up the
balls and move
That is the way treat the players on golf course
by the ranger isn’t it?
I played many different golf courses on east coast
This is first time ever forced to pick up the ball
and move in my life
That’s shame on the golf club and their management
Always Enjoyable..Now with Great Bar
This track is always fun and in good shape!
Recent upgrades to the 19th hole bar has made it that much more enjoyable!!
We shall return!!
Harder than rating / slope
I have not played here in a few years. Greens were in great condition and much faster than in the past. With the tight fairways on multiple holes, I think it plays tougher than its rating.
Terrible course
The course was horrible it looked that it hadn’t been watered for sometime. Pace of play was horrible
Course is good, but with bad quirks
Course was in good shape, especially with the greens recently aerated, which did not affect putts much. They made some changes with access to fairways on some holes, which makes sense. However, I still think for better safety and pace of play they need improvements on holes 10 and 18. Hole 10 then need taller flag so people can she it from the fairway and know green is clear, otherwise in most cases it is a blind shot. Also, they need something to let people know 18 fairway is clear as it is a blind tee shot almost all of the time. I had to take my cart up to the top of the hill to make sure fairway was clear to proceed with my tee shot. Other than that, course is great and hope to play it again before season ends.
Public NJ course doesn’t allow singles?
I went to the course to play a practice round to get ready for a tournament here soon. They refused to let me out as a single. No one was teeing off for the next 45minutes yet they refused to let me out as a single because they said they don’t allow single anymore…The starter said singles mess up the course..I wanted to play from the tips to practice for a tournament and no one else is in front of me or behind me…If I played with a group and walked and played from the tips while they drove a cart and played from the whites now that would mess up the flow…No one else was teeing off for the next 45 minutes and would not allow me to tee off by myself instead they said I can wait 45minutes for the next group to show up and play with them. This is just ridiculous for a public golf course in NJ. Especially when I am legit trying to just practice for a tournament that is being held at this course just weeks away. Unbelievable. Very disappointing. . Egos ruin public golf courses smh
Greens/ Marshall
management really hassled us out on the course about being behind the group in front of us I was playing with three other people who have never played the course and explained to them different shots they needed to hit and we were moving at a very good pace but the Marshall not only told us to speed it up but he sat there and watched us to make sure that we were going faster not a pleasant experience these other three fellows probably will never come back. The greens are so incredibly fast it's like we're playing on the PGA tour I don't know what the purpose of the speed is they are difficult greens to begin with and such a low-cut make some very difficult to putt on
