Putnam County Golf Course

Due to the aerated greens did not enjoy this course like I normally do! Love the layout and will look to return in the next few weeks when the greens should be in perfect shape!

this course always in good condition but so much rain made it soggy and cart path only for now. only issue was greens were recently aerated and tough with the sand to get pace right. this will be worth the trip in a few weeks though. only two uphill holes so good for walkers too.

Played here years ago under old name and management and was very underwhelmed.

This was probably my 6th round or so here since last year and I've been very pleased. Length from blues is respectable at 6,700-6,800 yards - 4-5 legit par 4's, greens move and are running pretty true and even if you just want to get rust off and kinks out it's open enough in most spots to bail out.

Kudos to the staff and maintenance crew here.

I read reviews on this place before going about the pace being slow, and it is true. They need to get the pace fixed and this place would be perfect. Course was in great condition, holes were very interesting. I played on a Thursday during the week and it was irritatingly slow at some points but the place wasn't packed, so it is a fixable issue. For people that are impatient, I wouldn't play here. But if you're okay waiting on half the holes then go for it, you wont be disappointed. Ill probably play here again next season and hopefully they fixed the pace issue. GREAT VALUE for the money though.

I was lucky enough to get out for a quick round this past Saturday for 18 holes in the off-season. Weather was absolutely beautiful and so was the course! Fewest leaves have ever seen on a course for this time of season. Cant wait to get out on this course again!

Greens were in good shape; Lost some balls in the leaves; friendly staff; course has some fairly long holes from the white tees

main reason for playing the course was the price but was very impressed with the staff and conditions

I play Putnam regularly and the course is in great shape, especially the greens which roll true and fast. Played mid week, mid morning and finished the round in just under 4 hours. While some of the par 5s play very long, overall the course is not overly challenging. Its a fair track, though on crowded days the closeness of the adjoining fairways creates some issues. I do recommend this course as good value for money.

I had read some reviews and thought in this day and age that all golf courses will keep people moving. The front wasn't that bad (we teed off 15 minutes late), but the back was BRUTAL! On one hole (a par 4), there was a group on the green, a twosome in the fairway, a threesome in the same fairway and us on the tee with a group waiting behind us - ridiculous! The course is also squeezed in with too many adjacent holes...all you hear is FORE! The thing that I noticed most is that it attracts golfers that can't play very well. Go at your own risk!

I hadn't played here in awhile, they did some renovations to the facilities and it has great potential. The course was immaculate, greens were fast and true, fairways excellent, rough not too deep. Great course to play on weekdays!

Had second tee time so pace was perfect 3.5 hr round. Will go play there again in the future.

It took 4 hrs to play the front, about 2 hrs. On the back 9.

6 hrs is not acceptable!

Very dry greens and fairways.

Very narrow fairways, I think a heard " Four" more times that day, then all the rounds I every played, combined.

Don't plan to ever play there again.

Have been playing this course for 15 years and it was the quickest it's ever moved. Weather was bad, so that could have been a factor. Played for 70% hot deal and was incredible value for the price. Tee box, greens, and overall course was in one of the best shapes I've seen it in.

I found Putnam to be a very good course in difficulty and layout. greens were in really good shape, fairways were a little heavy for me but overall nice. My buddy and I were playing on an extremely hot day but we were disappointed with the cart service.

With the new ownership they have really put some money into this course. I played on what in the past would have been a wet soggy mess ended up being completely dry. They have spent some money on drainage which was very much needed. Good job!

I had previously heard mixed reviews on Putnam County GC, but gave it a shot regardless. I was impressed with the layout and course as a whole (variety of holes, short and long par4's, doglegs, greens on the smaller side with plenty of undulation, greens were smooth and quick, elevation change, and you didn't feel like you played the same hole twice). I could have done without the 16th hole, but other than that I was definitely impressed. I would, and will, play this course again!

I will say that the course itself is very nice, relatively well kept, and clean, but the waiting was just absolutely unacceptable. I completely understand that there will be waits on courses as the months get warmer here, but at a 4:00 PM tee off time, on a Sunday, it should NEVER take nearly 3.5 hours to play 9 holes. I paid for 18, but didn't even bother with the back 9 because it would have been pitch black by the time I finished. I doubt I'll go back, which is a shame. Also, putting a "practice range" in between holes 17 & 18 is just absurd and not well thought out.
