Unexpected pleasant surprise
Hadn't played here since Covid. Found a reasonable price for this course and it was nearby.. all staff were very helpful. Course was actually in great shape. Greens were very good although they could have been a cut a little shorter.if uou played from the right set of tees its very fair, but some tight driving holes. Also. Some landing areas a little hard to hold. All in all I had a great time, but wished the bar was open.
Inexpensive, tough narrow course
Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Course was in good shape. Fast greens and nice grass. Will play again.
Thank you for your review! We are thrilled to know you enjoyed your experience with our team and our course. We look forward to having you back again!
Unfair
Course is unfair in general. No flat lies even if you perfectly place the ball on doglegs, which there are many. Greens had false fronts and tiers on most. Just a very difficult course without any of the fun.
Thank you for honest feedback. We are sorry to hear you didn't fully enjoy your golfing experience. We hope that you will give us another chance, and try our newly renovated course again!

Thank you for taking the time to leave this wonderful review! We are thrilled to know you enjoy golfing on our course, and that our standard of service has been reflected in your experience. We hope to see you back again soon!
This is a challenging and difficult golf course. Narrow ,bunch of doglegs, lots of elevation changes, and blind shots. Must be disciplined in order to play well. I played the forward tees which the starters recommended if you haven’t played there before and I’d agree with that. Course is in very good shape. I would play it again but the only issue I had was with the staff. I had signed up for a tee time through Golf Now hoping to play by myself and the starter said it was fine and then I found out I had to play with others. I did play with one guy who was nice but I wish they would have been more accommodating to golfers who want to play alone even if the course is a little busy. There were people behind me who were playing by themselves.
Thank you for your honest feedback! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our course, but we are sorry you weren't fully satisfied with your experience. We apologize for any lapse in communication, but hope for the chance to provide you with a five-star visit next time!

Always interesting
I like Somers but you need to go in knowing it’s a bit quirky. Hold layouts are mostly traditional but a few holes are a bit atypical. I don’t know many other courses where I’d tee off with a 6iron on a par 5. Accuracy is much better than length here.
Some greens are “challenging” in that they are ludicrously fast due to very pronounced undulations. For instance, on 18, my second shot was just short of the green and rolled about 10 yards back into the fairway. No worries, it is a raised green and I was short. My approach chip landed in the first third of the green, released and went uphill within 6-8 feet of the cup. The ball then rolled backwards off the green to my feet. Second attempt, same thing. Third attempt the ball happened to slow on some pine straw on the green. That seems a bit atypical in golf.
Like I said, I like Somers but it is a bit quirky. Knowing that, I’d happily go back.

Geese Problem. Hard Course. Dont pay full price
Don't pay full price. I think this place is probably worth paying 35-40 dollars (including a cart). Definitely not the 70-80 dollars they charge on weekends. Fairways littered in goose droppings (just accept that when you address the ball you will be standing in it). Some holes are better than others. We played in the spring and the fairways were in miserable condition. My drives routinely plugged into the fairways causing me to nearly lose my ball. Not sure if I should blame the course maintainers or the nature of the weather. Probably both. Greens were really nice, and had good feel. That's a big plus. Many of the holes are very narrow and hilly, so if you plan on driving, be sure that you are accurate. This is a decently hard course, but only because it is built into a neighborhood and needs to be narrow for that reason. Would recommend, but definitely do not pay full price.
While we appreciate your recommendation, we do apologize if we were not able to impress you this visit. We will take your feedback into consideration by means of improvement. We pride ourselves on providing a challenging, well taken care of course for our golfers at Somers. It is great that you did enjoy the feel of the greens during your game! We hope for the opportunity to welcome you back again for another round, as we know we can provide an overall 5-star experience!
Nice course a great price
It was the second day the course was opened for the 2022 season. It was almost empty, so that was a benefit felt like we had the course to ourselves. It was still a bit cold and windy, and the course has yet to be fully prepared for coming season. However, we got a great deal on tee-off and thoroughly enjoyed it. The course layout is very good and there are some narrow fairways. Knowing the course would really help in learning where to go for it vs where to lay up and on which side.
Joyless golf
One of the most ridiculous layouts of any course in the area. Blind shots, razor thin fairways and unscoreable holes make this course a gimmick. You have about 5 nice holes on this course. 3,4,5, 10 and 18. Conditions are usually shotty as well.
Comical that you need to pay ahead here as well.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this review. We take feedback such as this seriously. We will use this feedback for future improvements.
