Unmown fairway at Somers Pointe West! Photo submitted by Natmare on 07/05/2013
Some very nice hole, nice track
Staff was very professional ,helpful and welcoming
Only problem was the course was wet resulting in cart paths and designated area only.
Asphalt Cart Paths need to be replaced lacking maintenance in all areas other than greens and fairways.
Had an enjoyable round...
The course was wet but the weather was perfect. Enjoyed
my round. Mike
It was a fun day.
It was a beautiful day weather wise. the course was wet from earlier rains. I enjoyed playing the round. Mike
Great Round with friends
Really nice staff and great course.Very quiet and hidden gem. From the start All staff were very helpful and course was in great shape
Thank You Somers Staff
Nice & green
The National is playing well. Bring your best game and you will have a good round. Doesn’t leave room for errors. Tricky greens overall a good value for a better player.
Nice course
Had great time
Course was wet but very good for all the rain we got lately
Can’t beat the price at got on Hot Desls
Beautiful day only wish my game was as good
Somers National - Much Improved
The new management has already made a big difference from the last owners. I enjoyed the new layout with the old #10 tee being the #1 tee. The new back nine is more enjoyable as it always was. I usually walk when I play but walking this course is not recommended. The staff is great and they are about to overhaul the cart paths soon. I will be back.
Good Greens
The National is being worked on and the course is playing its best in years . The club house and the grounds are another story not a place you would bring your clients too
Ugh
No direction by the staff, course was soaked tee boxes need grass, greens have repairs all over them. Wouldn't recommend this course to anyone yet.
Excellent course
Only a short ride from Danbury and was in the area for work and caught an excellent deal for 18. Course was in great shape and the owner and his staff were very friendly and looking to help with anything you need. Will definitely be back
Vastly improved
The new owner(s) are sinking $$$ into this course. New carts with GPS, new ball washers, fixed up the bunkers, took out some trees, trimmed others. It’s been another wet spring, course was cart paths only, fairways were pretty wet but in good shape. Greens were beautiful. I don’t know if this course was designed for older golfers (Heritage Hills was originally designed as a 55+ community) but the course has a lot of dog-legs and I rarely use my driver. It’s a great place to work on your irons though, and with the sloping fairways you need to be able to place your shots or you’ll lose a lot of balls as they roll into the woods. Definitely a better course than it was in the past.
It was a beautiful day to play golf
Weather was not cold to play golf. I played once at this course on early in this year. At that time course was nice shaped and perfect condition for playing. I heard that they gonna close course for this year after on Moday. Because they closed for this season, they did not clean leaves all around courses. It was hard time to find a golf ball. I lost so many balls while I played. Shape of course was remaining well for every player. By hot deal from Golf Now I paid less money the golf club required. If I paid more than $50, I might not play this golf club on fall season. It’s worthless. I enjoyed playing golf in almost empty course.
Terrible condition
The course was in terrible shape. The fairways looked like they hadn’t been mowed in months, the grass was so long it was like hitting out of the rough. The course was also soaked, incredibly muddy, and did not dry up a time all during the round. The fairways were wet and muddy everywhere. The tee boxes we’re totally beaten up. The greens were the only part in decent shape.
Somewhat disappointing
Always liked the layout and some really nice holes. However, the course conditions are not good. Many bare spots in fairways and around greens. Some bad areas on a few greens also. Heard there are new owners and hoping that they put some work into fixing up the course.
Worst golfing experience in a long while
Have played here a few times when it was 100% private. Course layout is tricky as there are a bunch of 180 yard shots on par 4's and 5's. But this was the worst! Staff is not very nice but who cares. It was so disorganized, no starter, no rangers and nobody seemed to have ever golfed before. It took over 1 hour to play 2 holes!!! People were hitting 2 and 3 balls off tees, wandering around aimlessly, etc.. We actually left after 12 holes! NEVER again!
Somer's Pointe CC
Found a random hot deal for this course and decided to try it based on it's length from the tips. This is by far and away my favorite golf course I have ever played. It's like a video game course come to life. One of a kind layout with torturous greens that will leave you looking at your missed put and asking..."really?" I had to play this course ten times before I finally broke 90 lol. Took a tour pro friend of mine and he shot a 92 his first time. Not recommended for the faint of heart or anyone who has anger issues while playing. Absolute must play for anyone who enjoys a challenge and a unique layout. I've played around 100 different courses and this is still my favorite.
