Golfer Reviews
Bathroom
Spook Rock needs to update there restroom faculties on the course they were disgusting and no running water for the faucets. The doors are rusty and rotting away.
Great day out
Even though it was 47 degrees and crazy windy, The course was in good condition considering all the rain lately. Pace of play was great as it was quiet, all in all a great time play golf with one of my twin sons
Spook Rock - fair layout
Played Spook Rock 10/6 with a newer golfer. Ended up joining a twosome of players who have played there before. Was helpful to have some advice on tee shots and blind second shots. Greens were in excellent shape. Well cared for. Fairways and rough were manageable. Fall ball with the leaves makes finding shots sometimes difficult. Watch out on the 11th hole, a long downhill (blind tee shot) par 5.
There's a mirror on a telephone pole to help you see if it's clear to hit. We were told, by players who were there it was safe. I hit a good drive and was greeted by an unfriendly player ahead. Said I was close to hitting one of them on the fly in the head. I profusely apologized. Was told it was clear. Be sure you check for yourselves before you tee off. The landing areas of good drives are blind from the tee box. I'd play this course again. Was in great shape for a public course and reasonably priced. Could walk this one as well as it's relatively flat with only a few uphill walks.
Always a good time.
I have played Spook Rock a half dozen times between 2019/20 and every time the course is in great condition and it's a load of fun. Not overly long, anyone can score well IF you make the shots you have to make. Also, while seemingly packed into a tight piece of property, each hole maintains its own identity and it never feels repetitive. It is a great course to walk and compared to any other course in a 45min radius, well worth the price. For a town owned (I believe) muni, you can't ask for much more!
Good Value, Quality Glf
Reliable course and conditions. Tees and Fairways in good shape. Moderate Rough. Greens rolled true and fast downhill. Leaves in rough are what you would expect for Fall Golf./
Awful 1st impression, Will not go back.
Apparently the day started off with a frost delay on top of them having a tournament in the A.M. By the time I got here I had to wait about 30 minutes after my tee time to tee off. After the 1st hole we were backed up to at least 4 groups per hole, I left after finishing the front 9 (payed for 18), and being 45 minutes behind pace.. it was by far the worst pace ive ever seen at any course and not a single Ranger in sight.
This is a solid course
Spook Rock is a nice, well-maintained facility that played well. The course is in very good condition after recovering from an aeration that may have been good for the soil but made for bumpy play on the greens. I only wish I was a local resident and could get the discounted prices.
Fairways Recently Aerated
Happened to play on the day that they were aerating the back 9 so they had us play the front 9 twice. Front 9 fairways were also recently aerated, so I had to move my ball out of the holes occasionally, but not a big deal. Greens were running true and fast. I was told they got aerated a few weeks back but all holes were gone at this point. Course is in good shape, just wish I had the chance to play the back 9. Once the fairways recover it should be in great shape for a late fall round!
Fun course, challenging, nice scenery
Great pace of play, fun course overall. Some challenging spots, narrow paths to the green causing you to really focus and test your club choice. Unforgiving dog legs and beautiful , well groomed, fast greens
Also, saw a bear cub full sprint across the fairway
