This course has great features.
This course is very forgiving. The fairways are in great condition as well as the greens. The pace of play is pretty fast. The staff is very friendly. There is even a concession stand with everything you want.
Don't go on holiday weekend.
Made the mistake of going there on a long holiday weekend. They overbooked $25 Golfnow tee times and did not have a marshal on the course. It took right at 3 hours to play nine holes. We left at the turn and vowed to never return again, especially on long holiday weekends.
Lots of waiting on the weekends...
I played here two days in a row July 4th weekend. Both days there were just flat out too many golfers playing the course. The first day was all right but the second day was ridiculous. While it was a holiday weekend we were stacked three groups deep to start out the day (on hole one). Needless to say there was a lot of waiting. The tee boxes also need work and the greens were full of divots (though I wonder if this is just from shoddy golfers not repairing themselves) but the rough and fairways were good. This course needs to extend the length between tee times and see to the greens/tee boxes. I would recommend this course if it were a weekday.
this course has a good features
this course has a good features and staffs are very friendly. it is a good experience to play.
Slow Play on a dog track
Went on a Friday afternoon, the pace was awful, on one par 3 there were four groups of players, one on the green and three on the tee box.
Way overbooked and no Marshall, be forewarned.
Enjoyed round little slow
Nice course enjoyed round set up of course better than average.Need direction to hole sign for hole no. 12 missing road crossing sign.
Pretty bad
This course is not worth the money. The fairways are extremely narrow. At one point there were 3 fairways right next to each other, probably no more than 150-200 yards wide in total. The fairways are not well kept, weeds growing up, not mowed well. The greens were actually in fair shape although really flat and almost no break to them. They crowd the course with players so although you move fast there are people everywhere. In total, maybe 5 or 6 of the holes were nice, unique layouts. I would not play again.
Course needs serious work
April 21, 2013.
After playing a round here I was disappointed. The tee boxes were mostly dirt, the fairways had weeds everywhere, basically making them a rough. The course has a good layout, with a challenging back 9, however until improvements are made I would not recommend. I played for $32 and this course was worth about $20. I got stuck behind a foursome who were loud, obnoxious, and made my round almost 5 hours long. Maybe a change of management would be good here.
Great shape for winter
I was impressed with the greens, especially considering it was January. I'm sure they are pristine in the summer. The course is short, but challenging with lots of doglegs and tight fairways - a very risk/reward setup. Will definitely play again.
Good value.
I think this is one of the best courses close to 270 in south county, and certainly one of the best values. Variety of shots and challenges. Great bartender.
Good Play, OK Location, Good Price
I enjoy the layout of Paradise Valley A LOT. It has interesting topography and a lot of pretty challenging holes. Some of the back 9 is kind of blah, but overall it's not a bad course.
My only gripe is that it is never in pristine shape. It is hard to keep a course like that "pristine" (with being in the middle of the woods and all), so I am cutting them a break. I am going to withhold judgement on that one until later in the season for sure to be fair. I would love to see this course looking awesome, though. Then it would be a REALLY good play -- a 4 star course.
Honestly, though, this is a good course that is a great value for the money. The layout is good, and they are usually very easy going. Now if I could just get my score down I'd be set....
Nice weather and a fun day. Pace moved very well.
Realize it is late, late fall and no courses are in pristine condition right now in eastern Missouri. The forecast was "very windy", but the valley that Paradise Valley is in removes a lot of that wind. The good "pace of play" was well appreciated, as the warm part of the day has very limited hours. Paradise Valley is always a fun course.
Good Little Course
The front 9 is short and you don't need to take out the big stick too often. The back was a different 9 holes. I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course and the greens were in good shape. I played with a buddy and we took our time and still finished in 3.5 hours without pressing anyone and nobody was on our heels. Not the most challenging course but I enjoyed playing and would be back if the price was close to winter rates during the summer months.
Great course
This is a great place to play! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The course is kept in great condition most of the time and is challenging yet can be played by someone with not much experience. I highly recommend it and will surely be back.
course was in good shape for this time of year
For mid November, the course was in good shape - greens were good - windshields on the carts would have been nice - staff was friendly
Great Scenery, Fun Course, Good Value
I've played paradise valley for 10 years and love it. The course has beautiful scenery built into the natural landscape of Missouri. The course itself isn't overly complex, which makes it fun for the weekend golfer. The price is a good value especially if you are using golfnow. The only downside is the bunkers aren't in the best shape and there isn't much water.
Good shape for October
Enjoyable during the week, backs up on the weekends. Fairways and greens in good shape. Bunkers not.
First and foremost, I apologize for Paradise Valley Golf Course not meeting your expectations last weekend. With all due respect, I would hope that you understand that until temperatures warm, ground temps above 60 degrees, the warm season grasses (bermuda and zoysia) will not come out of dormancy, thus leaving the cool season grasses, the weeds/rough you referred to, much more prominent, and unaffected by pre emergent. In other words, without Mother Nature’s cooperation, warmer weather and ground temps, little can be done.
I thank you for playing Paradise Valley, and would hope that you would understand the circumstances, and give us another opportunity to earn your business.
Thank you,
Mike Miller
