Pevely Farms on a Sunny Day in STL (temp 46)
Great golf course. Don’t plan on ordering lunch though, not in the winter season anyway.
Great Course
Haven't been to Pevely in a while, I will be back soon. Tees, fairways, greens all in great shape. Pretty decent speed on the greens for January. Only downside to the course for me is the 7 par 4s on back 9. Don't know of any other course like that--like more variety. Beautiful scenic holes very much worth a play. No. 12 par 5 fun hole, 18 cool finishing hole.
Everything was great except
You lied about the range. You know it’s going to be closed.
Awesome course
This was my first time playing the course and I can honestly say it was well worth it. From the rolling hills and forever changing stances in the fairways, the course never failed to present a challenge. The views and scenery are also amazing and this was in November. I can't wait to play the course in the spring.
Greens are fast and true
Course is in great shape and the greens are fast and very true. Unlike a lot of the courses in St. Louis lately they have really paid attention to the greens and making them enjoyable like they should be. Keep up the great work.
Great condition but...
Course is always in great condition. Pace of play was the worst I have ever experienced at this course. Terrible job by the marshals to badger the fast players and do nothing about the slow players ahead clogging everything up.
sand traps need work greens and fairways good shape
golfing
course was in good shape one of my favorites a few rough spots but well worth it
Tough course especially on a hot day
Don't play Pevely very often and this round was the first time there in two years. Part of the reason is that it is a difficult course, pretty expensive, and you hardly ever get a flat lie in the fairways. I never score well there and, while very scenic, not a "fun" course. My group just laughed at some of the difficult places we put ourselves.
The course was in great shape and the rough was up. It was challenging to hit out of the tall grass and was mostly a hack back into the fairway, for another shot on uneven ground!
The greens have a lot of subtle slopes and bumps and are hard to read. They rolled pretty true but there were a lot of ball marks, which is always disappointing to see, especially for a "high-ed" course that Pevely likes to present itself.
Probably because it was so hot, the course was not very crowded and we got around in 3:45. We teed off right after a threesome and didn't see them again until the 17th hole. I will play it again just not until next year.
