Great course, great value
We booked through GolfNow.com (I think) and got a deal for $28/person for 18 and a cart. Never played, but it was close and worth a shot. The staff were great and the course was in decent (but not great) condition (mostly due to recent cold weather in STL). We really enjoyed it; the only thing that would've made it better would've been a faster pace of play. We were playing a best ball format (2 teams of 2), so we moved pretty quickly, but there was a group two groups ahead of us who really gummed up the works for everyone. They let the group ahead of us play through, then a couple of holes later they waved us through. Once we got past, everything opened up. Not much you can do about that, so it's hard to hold it against the course. The one thing that the course could do better is mark yardage; often times, the cards were no where close to what was listed on the hole signs (or the sprinklers near the tees; sometimes being off as much as 40 yds). It's hard to gauge distance when you've never played the course.
Overall, great experience. Will definitely recommend and play again.
All right for the (discout) price.
Fairways on front nine were thin, and only a few holes have distance markers. Also, many of greens had maple helicopter seeds in abundance. Too bad greens were not blown off. P.M. play was slow, but great weather made up for it. Back nine was in better condition, and more challenging due to narrow fairways and topography.
Disappointed
Course appears very run down. It does not appear much has been done to maintain it. Condition has deteriorated since last time playing there over five years ago.
This course is a dump!!!
Dead tee boxes and dead fairways, greens rolled somewhat good but were very slow.Cart paths beat you to death. First and last time i will ever play the course
In Progress
Greens were very nice...slow but smooth roll. Fairways and tee boxes are what keeps this course from being a good one. Yardage markers need to be in the fairway and not in the line with out of bounds. Could be a really fun course if they put some work in it.
Good Setting - Needs Work
This course could benefit from some TLC - the tee boxes were in poor shape. It looks like the management may be moving to upgrade course conditions - that would be good. We will revisit this course in the summer at some point to see how they are doing. The price on GolfNow was good - but I certainly would not pay more.
Well maintained for this time of year
They did an excellent job of keeping the fallen leaves off the entire course. BRAVO!
Great value for the price
I have always loved this course. Fun to play. Usually in pretty good shape with very reasonable greens fees. Some of my very first rounds of golf were on this course, now my best rounds of golf have been on this course. Guess that makes me biased.
Course needs lots of work on greens fairways
was fun to play but condition of course could be greatly
improved
Challenging course, convenient location
I played this course on a spur-of-the-moment booking. Got a great price from Golf Now. The course was in pretty good shape but some of the greens were spotty. The tee boxes were in okay but not great condition. There aren't enough yardage stakes on most of the holes making club selection a guess for nonregular players.
The back 9 has some very challenging holes and a good test for those who can't keep the ball straight.
The greens are still in good shape but the fairways are getting hard, so It is getting tough to make consistent shots from the fairways. Many holes have narrow fairways and truly test those of us who tend to slice or hook. Shot placement is extremely important at this course.
It is what it is! Paradise Valley
Course design far from great; greens in decent shape and fairways okay. Paid $11 for 18 holes w/ cart was a very good deal via Golf Now.
Challenging course (narrow at times, lots of trees, lots of dog legs) but in serious need of watering.
challenging course with narrow fairways, dog legs and lots of trees. Course looked like it had not been watered in weeks. With a little up keep, course would be in great shape. Instead, many fairway shots were like hitting off concrete.
Enjoyed a great round of golf at Paradise Valley!
We always enjoy Paradise Valley! It's a little dry out there right now, but what course isn't? The gentlemen that own the course are very obliging and friendly. Shot my best round ever there, yesterday!! It's a challenging course...but great fun! While you enjoy your game of golf...you also get to enjoy the scenery, such as; deer, wild turkey...and the friendly pups that are there to greet you.
Very fun and ghallenging course.
This course causes you to evaluate your entire game and almost pull out every club in the bag. I learned to play on this course 23 years ago. I still find it fun to play and I've played a lot of the more expensive courses but I still like to come here to fine tune my game.
This course has been neglected
For 25 bucks on any given Saturday is the best thing about this course. Tee boxes, greens, fairways, cart paths, hazards, and all foliage needs major attention. Will not go back. My definition of "paradise" is quite different.
Good Value
The course wasn't particularly great, but good value for the price. They had overbooked the tee times though, and we ended up behind a really slow walking group and played a 5 1/2 hour game.
Nice challenging course
I really enjoyed playing this course and would play it again. It's moderately difficult which I enjoyed because It made me think about my shots. If your are looking for something crazy fancy you may not like it. If you just enjoy playing golf you should have a good time.
Good for price you pay
The course was in decent shape and was of good quality for the price we paid. The greens were in good shape and fairways were as well. Some patchy areas here and there but overall pretty decent for price we paid.
Course was in good condition and the staff were very friendly. Good value for the money.
Front nine and back nine are completely different. The front nine is more friendly if you hit decent shots and every hole is reachable. The back nine requires more length and is more of a challenge.
