Golfer Reviews
A decent little pasture
I hate to bash a local goat ranch, but it wouldn’t take much to make this a better place to play. Especially because it has a fun layout.
Here are some suggestions…
Use a mower. Everything is overgrown, greens, rough, tee boxes, etc. maybe roll them too..? Maybe care?
Use a Blower. There is an obscene amount of debris on these greens. Hard to believe there isn’t one staff member who might know how to use a leaf blower…
Don’t randomly send people out whenever. It’s as simple as telling a group to wait until the first group gets off the green to tee up. Pretty common practice.
It’s Back!
Major work was done last year to the tee boxes. Also irrigation work was done for the fairways, which showed with some nice grass in the fairways and roughs.
If you’re playing this course pls replace your divots and ball marks. Let’s show our appreciation for their efforts. Great course for a municipal course in NYC.
FP in great shape
Tee boxes are all ready for 2024. lush green fairways and greens were rolling smooth. Great course and challenge with the trees and tight chutes off the tee.
Neglect
This course attracts a lot of beginner golfers who are slow and don’t understand course etiquette or golf cart etiquette. Since the course management can’t be bothered to send out one of their many cranky old men on a cart to be a Marshall pace of play is glacial and tips for the beginners to understand where to park their carts never happens. And gee whiz is it too hard to color coordinate the flag sticks red white blue so we can figure out where the hole locations are like every other normal course. Come on FPGC be better. Do better.
Great course
Would definitely recommend this course. The conditions are good, staff is friendly, and the value for the price is great. Parking can be an issue if extremely busy but they do have a parking lot. The pace of play in the morning is great.
Golf course is really nice, but has not much amenities
I love this golf course, I would be even thrilled to play more often if it has many amenities such as drive thru food and drink vendor to various golf holes. The other main thing is a toilet at midway to the play, say around 10 holes.
Management needs to do better
1. How about color coding the flags like red white blue to indicate pin placement like any normal course?
2. How about a benches at every tee box to wait out the inevitable slow play waits?
3. How about reminding players to repair ball marks on the greens??
4 stars? How?
The idea of the course great. But some notice of areas under repair would be nice. Greens were jacked up. Pace of play was extremely slow. On the best day of the course corrected a hard 3.5. Cant see 4 at all which was what drew me to book the course. Thanks for the experience. But I will not be back.
