NYC Player
Played this morning and enjoyed being out during this beautiful weather
post outing
The course had an outing, affecting tee times and pace of play. So a later tee time at 5:30 pm means, 10-15 holes with sunset at 8:30 pm. However great weather, good group and I got my fix for the day.
Brutal
One of the slowest rounds I’ve ever played ( 6.5hrs+) There were 4 groups waiting to hit on multiple holes, which is ridiculous for a weekday. No ranger to be seen. Fairways were in good shape. I won’t be coming back.
Decent at best
There’s about 5-6 holes with straight dirt for tee boxes that have been like that for years I guess they’re never gonna fix and over 20 bucks for a cart is ridiculous they took away the cheeseburger lady on the 8th hole so you there’s no where to eat or get drinks the entire course other then the 1st tee
All around good course
I was working in the area and saw from the Jackie Robinson Pkwy and meant to check it out. I did on Tues with sole intention of looking over the course. I was impressed by condition of course, layout and friendliness and professionalism of the staff, especially the man in the pro shop. I booked a round as a single walk on and played a memorable round. I underestimated the course. It has its challenges, but not brutal. Overall, very enjoyable and the best NYC course I've played so far. Worth the drive. Pure golf!
Old school
Forest park is a challenging small layout with tree lined fairways and small greens. The tee boxes do not get much sun and are kinda beat up but we have been used to that for a long time. The course puts a premium on having to hit fairways because if you don’t then the forest will eat you alive. The greens were slow but the course was plush and looked great. I love forest park and Bobby Smith has always done a great job running the golf course. It’s a beautiful walk in the park as long as you stay in the fairways!!
Too slow
It took 3 hours to play the first nine holes before I had to give up as it was not fun to wait twenty minutes in between rounds. Too many people going out and no rangers enforcing timing. A lot of beginner golfers who don't maintain proper pace.
Bad Tee box, bad pace and dangerous
Most of the tee box half of the box without grass, also so many slow player and also due to small course it is dangerous to play because so many golf ball from high handicapera player goes to our fairway.. no recomment for play… but the green is good
