Challenging course
Not too short not too long
All staffs very kindly
Manager is very kindly gentleman
I love it this course
Forest Park Needs Help
This course is a gem. Unfortunately the company that runs this city course is only interested in extracting as much money as they can while offering the public the bare minimum. There are at least 4 greens vandalized by carts with donuts from last summer. The greens still have the donuts.
The other issue is the management does not care to educate all the new Covid golfers who by and large are ignorant and clueless. Repair ball marks on the green, repair divots; do not drive your fat lazy selves all over the course with the carts—no carts on tee boxes or off of green fringes. Why can’t the course print out a one page flyer and hand it to the players as they go off. EDUCATE.
Slow play
Very slow play need a ranger to move groups forward one group 2 holes behind play
Too Many Weekend Golfers
Way too slow but not the fault of the management. They spaced everyone well off the first tee, but too many players who have no business playing on a regulation course were ahead of us. They need a ranger. Otherwise, it is one of my favorite tracks, a real gem in the middle of Queens.
Destroyed and not well maintained
We’re all desperate to get out during the winter months but I’m not sure this was even worth it. Tee markers were only present on the first tee box. Every tee box thereafter was a total guessing game. No signs even telling you which hole you’re approaching or about to play. Garbage all over the course, tee boxes are complete dirt, and the flags didn’t even sit securely in the cups. The greens were also horribly shape. I can’t believe they’re asking $50 plus $20 per person for a cart. Hate to be so negative but it just seems like it’s easy enough to put tee markers and hole numbers on all the holes. Really wonder where all the money is going.
Craters
Besides the snow which we can't fault them for. The greens that we're perfectly cleared had structural damage. As if there is no respect
Forest Park Trashed By Neglect
Forest park is a lovely and wonderful golf course that is being destroyed by the current management. There are greens that were severely damaged by vandals in golf carts in August that are still unrepaired. There are greens with alternate hole locations uncovered.
There are flagsticks that are worn out and can’t even stay in place.
Their is duck poop all over several greens that makes it impossible to putt. Why can’t this be cleared? There are no longer any tee markers on the course except for Hole 1.
They want to rake in the money yet make no effort to EDUCATE all the hordes of new golfers on how to help maintain a golf course. The number of unsightly ball marks on every green is really sad. They need to inform golfers to repair ball marks and divots.
The city needs to address all these issues with the management or find a better more capable team to run this and other city courses. It’s a shame because this course is an 1896 jewel.
