Most Challenging..
Public course in NYC. Great course that can challenge each club in the bag in comparison to all other NYC public courses. The front nine can be tight with exception of holes 1-3. Other holes demands precision or pay the price of losing balls to the trees. Courses is in good shape with exception of a few tee boxes that are being used during the cold season. fairways was clear of leaves. Staff is great and friendly to all golfers. I look forward to playing here in the spring.
Dissatisfied considerimg cost
6.5 hour round
Tee boxes were very poor condition
Tee boxes to close to greens on some holes
the absolute worst!!!!!
have played at 20 different courses in v.a., n.c., and have never played a course that didn't have , at the very least a port-a-john somewhere on the course! also, a grill and cooler on the 10th tee is not my ideal of a clubhouse setting! NEVER AGAIN!!!
My home golf course
I like this golf course. I've been playing this course for a few years now and I must say that the grounds are in much better shape. The course is a bit challenging for one who has never played there before. The golf course is hilly and this is one of the things I most like about it. The fairways allow some forgiveness and the holes on the greens are moved often enough to challenge you every time you come back and play. The best part of playing at Forest Park is that you feel like you are playing at an upstate golf course. The fresh cut grass, the crisp air and the old trees make it a golf haven in the middle of this beautiful park.
Enjoy my fellow golfers

Good time
Good course for the price I paid. Wish it was a little more spread out. Some tee spots are right next to some greens. Kind of dangerous
Home sweet home
It's my home course so I play it 2 or 3 times a month In my opinion it's the in NYC
hope your not in a hurry
slooow play but great staff and good condition of the course I will be back again
forest pk
Great course only problem was there was alot of traffic in front of us. So we waited alot
Good conditions, very poor pacing
Even though it has gotten busier and busier the course is still being maintained very well. Tees, fairways, and greens are in good condition. My gripe is with pace of play. 9:15 tee time on a Monday and the round took 5 hours. My foursome was constantly waiting for the threesome ahead of us, and the foursome ahead of them. I never saw a ranger. It would be nice to see someone out on the course making sure groups are playing ready golf and keeping the pace up.
Good Shape
Place was in great shape and enjoyable to play. Pace was poor, however; 5+ hours to play. Staff was great; forgot my range finder in the cart and it was returned to me the next day.
A nice day at Forest Park
As a first time golfer to Forest Park I found the course to be quite enjoyable. My wife and I have been playing for just about a year, so the change to a larger/longer course was a nice challenge. Fairways and greens where in fine shape, though the sand traps were like concrete. Luckily, that wasn't a problem for us but was for others in our group. I had read previous posts about how BAD some of the tee boxes are. Yes some are bare of grass but these are the tee boxes right under huge trees, so they get no sunlight at all. The starter had us paired up and sent off before our actual tee time. Play kept moving along, if we did have to wait it was only for a few minutes. The beverage girl made her rounds often which was good because it was a HOT day. All in all my wife and I had a great day only losing one ball a piece. I consider this a big deal because we are still beginners. We will definitely be coming back again and maybe make this our "home" course over other Queens courses we have already played.
P.S. Try and book your tee time though GOLFNOW.com - you might luck out and get a prime time cheap!
Nyc best keep secret
An excellent course, in the heart of queens. Got a great rate on a hot deal $20. Pace was great done in just over 3 1/2 hrs . With a threesome. Fairways excellent greens excellent. Must play. Only drawback they charge $3 to park your car.
Course is still well maintained
Really enjoy this course.........My one complaint is pace of play. It starts off slow, though it usually picks up once you've reached the 5th hole the pace picks up if you play early in the day. I prefer to play late morning or early afternoon. You can play with a cart for $40.00 after 12:00pm
Old time favorite
I learned to play golf on this golf course. Haven't played in over 30 years. The course is in much better shape now and they changed the routing for the better too. The greens were in great shape and the narrow fairways make for harder tee shots. The only bad thing is that tee boxes and greens are too near each other, almost got hit twice.
great 18 holes
This day was great. Awesome day for a round of golf. Thanks !
Excellent condition
It's gotten much better and less crowded, better T-box is desired.
First Time Playing at Forest Park
I got a great deal for 2 players at 2 p.m. through Golf New York and we both thoroughly enjoyed the course. We didn't realize that we had to trek over to hole #16, but once we did, the starter put us back on track. Beautiful course - can't wait to play again!
great course out in queens
greens were a bit slow, tight fairways, reserved 2pm tee time, but teed off at 1:30pm. expected more crowded conditions, but it was a perfect saturday with nice weather, & great conditions.... pace was fairly fast for weekend as it was not too crowded
Pace of play
Had to tell staff about players teaching other players. Strange thing was the teacher need to be taught. It took one and a half hours to play three holes and there is never a ranger on this course to see how play is moving.
