Have to play twice....
A lot of short holes, but the course makes up for its length by being narrow and having fast greens. Very fun. Elevated tees and hills add to the character of the course. A great course for people who live in NYC. Carts have a nice GPS system. Chipping greens, putting greens, driving range, and restaurant are on-site. I've read reviews about this course stating that it's in horrible condition, but it's sure nice now.
Love this course
I learned to play on this course. Front nine hilly and tight. Back nine flat and roomy. Good shape great staff. Alway a joy to play.
Always fun
Dunwoodie may not be a long course (5800 from the tips), but the tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy and precision. Many excellent improvements have been made to this course, including GPS on golf carts, fresh, new sand in all bunkers, and rangers that actually take action on slow golfers. It's always fun to play at Dunwoodie and I highly recommend this track for golders of all levels.
Lots of elevation changes
Accuracy is rewarded here. Not a long hitters course unless they hit it straight.
Fun Course
Played for the first time the other day and would definitely go back. The course seems like it would be easier, but the greens are fairly small, which added a nice degree of difficulty.
I also liked the GPS on the carts.
So so
Was disappointed with the course as it really didn't suit my eye. Also, the new carts that they have shut down when you are nearing an area it doesn't think you should be in. That's fine, but the Course should be better marked in terms of what is cart path only, etc.
Short but Tough
The front nine was a beast to conquer. It was unnecessary to hit driver on the front nine. I did 3 times, each very good hits, but 2 of the 3 went long into the trees. The opening holes are narrow and risky if you're not dead straight. The back nine is more traditional in terms of lengthy holes requiring driver to score. Overall it was a challenging trek with technical shots required from tee to green. And oh, not to mention the greens are as small as I've seen. I look forward to playing it again with more knowledge of what to and what not to do.
Good course with excellent carts with GPS
Good course. Enjoyed playing there.
I would recommend this course for people living in NYC.
Great time
Short but challenging. Have to hit you're shots.the practice areas are nice. Putting, chipping, range are in good condition
Nice Day
We had a nice day on a nice course. Have played here multiple times and have never been disappointed
short but challenging
like the people and specially the starter very kind.
Good Course
We were a threesome and waited at about 7 holes, still finished the round in a little over 4 hours. Course is in amazing shape, greens were in great shape but not too challenging.
Municipal golf
The course is in good shape late in the season for a public golf course. The fairways and rough are dry and hard. The greens are in good shape.
Dunwoodie
The sometimes steep terrain makes this a somewhat challenging course. Would definitely go back.
Short but narrow.
I have been playing Dunwoodie for over 5 years now and it has not changed too much. The course is pretty short but the fairways are narrow and the greens are small. The greens are in good shape as are most of the fairways. The course is hilly but is an easy walk in my opinion. The driving range is great and the practice greens are nice but a little small.
Short Course but taken care of
The greens and fairways were in good shape for the most part. A few holes with fairway under repair.
Tight course with a few open holes.
GPS in carts for yardage.
Decent course but short
Played dunwoodie for the first time on a Tuesday evening, tee'd off at 4pm, and finished at 7, as a 2some with carts. Pace of play would most likely be the only reason I would return. Short course with not much going on, but for 40 bucks and a 3hr round, its for sure worth it.
Not the same course
I played this course in 1960 for the first time ,I was 11 and played it about a dozen times that summer. Wish i had continued playing lol It was a enjoyable day playing with my son. Fairways and greens in nuce condition but play a little slow.
Decent public course
Course was is good shape. New carts are nice. pace of play is a little slow, but what can you expect from a county course? For around $30 for a hot deal it's a good value.
Moderately challenging nearby course
The course is in very good shape, especially the greens. It is always a pleasant sight to see the mgmt watering the course, but it might be best to do that at night. The front 9 has some tight, tree-lined fairways and some high hills. The back 9 plays longer but more forgiving. Most surprising was the sugar-like sand in the green-side bunkers. Parking is free. And the price was a very good bargain.
