The greens
The fairways were in good shape. But the greens were very slow
Home course
I practically grew up on Mohansic, growing up down the street made it easy to play often. The layout can be tricky for those unfamiliar, most tee shots are blind, many doglegs and elevation changes obscure the greens from the tee.
I haven't played it in over 5yrs, always good to come home to play..
Layout hasn't changed much, a new green on 16, a few bunkers here and there. Course was in great shape, greens were rolling true, not too fast or slow.
Took a while to get carts for my group, so our tee time was delayed. Pace of play was good..
Way to crowded
Have played the course many times and always considered it a great challenge. Course in great shape!
Went out late afternoon on Father's Day. Teed off right on schedule but took over 2 hours to play 9 holes.we quit after the 10th and tried to maybe find an open hole on the way in. There were no gaps just 1 group right after the other. Had some younger kids in front of us who must have been beginners. Someone should maybe educate kids on course etiquette and positioning their pull carts.
Ran out of golf carts
For the second week in a row how do you run out of golf carts on a weekday 🤷♂️🤬
Not a great day
Five hour round. No play it forward tees except for a few holes. Greens painfully slow. Staff was not helpful even when I asked for directions, Told them I hadn’t played there in 40 years, and all that they said was they might not have enough motor carts, in a arrogant way, like don’t bother me attitude.
Great course for the money
This is what Van Courtlandt wishes it was. I was very impressed with the condition of the course and I found the layout to be challenging but gettable if you keep it in play. There's plenty of room to do so as well. I can't speak too much to the pace of play since me and my friends played it on a wet day so we had the entire course to ourself. We used our pushcarts and there are a number of holes that make it challenging to walk if you are considering that. I can't wait to come back and play again here with a cart on a nice day.
SLOW!!
Everything was great except the pace of place. Granted, this is a public course but it should not take 5 hours to play a par 70 course. Too many newbies and kids on the course. Other than that it's fine and worth the money.
