Tough course especially on a hot day
Don't play Pevely very often and this round was the first time there in two years. Part of the reason is that it is a difficult course, pretty expensive, and you hardly ever get a flat lie in the fairways. I never score well there and, while very scenic, not a "fun" course. My group just laughed at some of the difficult places we put ourselves.
The course was in great shape and the rough was up. It was challenging to hit out of the tall grass and was mostly a hack back into the fairway, for another shot on uneven ground!
The greens have a lot of subtle slopes and bumps and are hard to read. They rolled pretty true but there were a lot of ball marks, which is always disappointing to see, especially for a "high-ed" course that Pevely likes to present itself.
Probably because it was so hot, the course was not very crowded and we got around in 3:45. We teed off right after a threesome and didn't see them again until the 17th hole. I will play it again just not until next year.
Long, Rolling hills, lots of trouble but fun to play.
Nice course, long with lots of trouble everywhere and rolling hills. It’s all the course you can handle, hard, but fun. Played at 11am course was crowded but pace was just over 4 hours. Played the blue tees, 7100 yards, you need every club in your bag to get around this course, and bring your best sand wedge.
Great course
The course is in great shape. A lot of rolling hills so you won’t always have a flat lie. The greens are quick
Slow check in
Paying the green fee was painfully slow.
Otherwise, very nice course.
Great Day on the Farms
Pevely Farms is a picturesque course that offers plenty of challenges with a number of sloped fairways that are generous in width. Greens are well kept with many hidden slopes that made them fun to read. Cart paths are shared for many holes and can be a bit confusing, but signage is helpful. Would definitely recommend, but will play next time when the weather is less oppressive with the combo of heat and humidity. Enjoyed the senior tees which helped me get a feeling for the course. Will play the white tees next time out.
Pace and Blind shots
It has been a while since I’ve played Pevely and it will be a while before I return.
The pace was pathetic and although we saw several rangers, there were no changes throughout the round.
Difficult to get any rhythm and in my opinion was avoidable.
Great views and layout aren’t enough to lure me back. If you’re going to employ rangers, let’s make sure they’re effective.
Course was in great shape. Friendly staff, greens were fast and true.
Overpriced for St. Louis
If you like trying to figure out how far to the right or left you have to hit the ball to be on a flat lie or somewhat decent lie in the fairway, this course is for you, Some hole layouts were nice to play,, especially on the back. Greens were very disappointing for 62 dollars. Very slow, many ball marks, and very beat up. For 62, expect more folks. It's St. Louis Golf! It is definitely not worth the 62 dollars spent . No course in St. Louis surrounding area is. Play the cheaper course and give your partner gimees if within club length if you are a good putter.
