Peveley Farms
Always a nice course. The greens were a little slow, but true. Front nine was real slow, but a few groups dropped off, and then it went very quickly. Not the courses fault, but players ahead of me would not fix their divots, so I was busy. And I birdied #18 to end with an 81.
Loved it.
One of the nicest courses in the area. Wish I hadn’t waited so long to try it out.
Layout is spectacular
Layout is one of my favorites, conditions, particularly the greens left something to be desired considering the mild summer we had. Over the years this course continues to struggle.
Hot Day
Even though it was 95 degrees plus, the fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Plenty of drinking water available. Very enjoyable day.
Though test
Course in outstanding condition. Greens alittle slow. Pace of play on s Sat am slowwww. Overall a great place to play
Very hot 98*
Nice golf course, challenging. Cold water was dispersed on the course.
Some work needed
Overall, course was in very good shape the only issue I had was the collars around a lot of the greens. Instead of well manicured, many were in bad shape. Some had some weed problems. On one hole, I actually had to move my ball so I could putt.
Great fun
I've always heard about this place and was curious to try it. The layout and scenery are awesome.
I recommend.
Pace of play was horrid and grass on tees were ridiculously long
First six holes flew by then came upon a logjam. I had enough and left on the17th hole. I should of known by how long the grass was on the driving range that the tees and fairway grass would be long also. I saw someone else complain a couple of weeks ago ago about the length of the grass on the tees. Management replied and said something about recent rain and chemicals. No recent rain for a few days. Just obscenely long grass on the tees that seemed to always be growing into you. Greens held and putted true. They just need to get a mower out and a course Marshall out. Probably wouldn't play again.
Solid public play in the St. Louis area
Pevely Farms is a very solid golf course and certainly one of the better public options in the St. Louis area. It's laid out on a beautiful rolling piece of farmland with holes that meander up and down and around trees and water features. What makes it especially challenging is that even if you find the fairway, chances are you won't have a level lie. At just over 7,000 yards from the back tees, it's plenty of golf course, and wayward tee shots can find the fescue rough, which in some places is certainly too high to find your ball. All-in-all, though, the golf course is fair, but it would help to play it a couple of times.
Good, but not worth what they charge
As other people have said, it’s not what it has been in the past. It is still in decent shape, but not nearly good enough for what they charge normally. If you can get a deal on golf now it is worth it, but if not go down the street to Crescent or Aberdeen, they are both in better shape for cheaper.
Not What it Used to Be
Having played Pevely Farms years ago, I was really looking forward to playing there again. It was a steamy but clear day and the views from the clubhouse were just amazing. Lush green hills everywhere you turned. Checked in at pro shop and the assistant was wick but not very welcoming. We were paired with a couple of local guys who were average players but friendly. Pace of play was fine, 4:15. But stepping up to the first tee, I knew right away that this course has really slipped in its upkeep. The tee was no different than the fairway in grass length with big divots. I’ve played $15 muni courses with better tee conditions. The fairways were inconsistent in length and patchy in places. Greens were a bit better but numerous unfixed ball marks. For a supposedly upscale daily fee course, Pevely Farms was a disappointment.
Early Morning Round to Beat the Heat
Played early on a Saturday to avoid the heat. Really quick getting to checked in and on the range. Very nice practice green next to club house. Pace of play was very good. We were a twosome behind a great foresome that graciously allowed us to play through. Done in under 4 hours. Interesting and challenging layout. A lot of hole make you think. Greens in great condition. We will play again.
Nice
Course was very nice. Went right after a storm, but the course held up great. It’s really pretty and worth trying out. Had a great time on a very nice course.
